JUST WALK, BERLIN!

The Worcester County Health Department and the
Town of Berlin Parks Commission Partner to Promote
3rd Annual Just Walk Berlin

Berlin, Maryland- Fall in to fitness this November and participate in the 3rd Annual Just Walk Berlin event to be held on Saturday, November 8th (rain date: November 15th) at Stephen Decatur Park, Rt. 113 and Tripoli Street, Berlin. This is a FREE event co-sponsored by the Worcester County Health Department and the Town of Berlin Parks Commission.

“This is a really great program and the Town is excited to partner with the Worcester County Health Department again this year,” said Town Administrator Laura Allen. “We expect even more people to participate this year because we’re now America’s Coolest Small Town.”

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while getting some physical activity with friends, family, and other community residents. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by a warm up at 9:30 and the 1.0 mile fun walk will begin at 9:45 a.m. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 11 am for the new Mural. The Health Department will be available to register participants for the Just Walk program and will provide healthy lifestyle information including healthy eating, physical activity, diabetes prevention information, and Quit Smoking Kits. The first 100 participants will receive a free Just Walk water bottle.

Just Walk is a free, self-directed, self-reported, incentive-based physical activity program that rewards participants for mileage of physical activity accumulated. Participants can earn a sweatshirt, t-shirt, water bottle, and more.
