HUGE GRAPE PRODUCTION AT LAYTON’S CHANCE WINERY LEADS TO 48 HOUR –OPPORTUNITY FOR WINE-MAKERS

Berlin, MD: Around 11am, Tuesday, Oct 21st, Molly Hilligoss received a call from Jennifer Layton, Co-owner and General Manager at Layton’s Chance Winery located in Vienna, MD. The Dorchester County farm and winery had a great harvest and ended up with an excess of 8 tons of Chambourcin grapes. With grapes safely in a refrigerated truck, Jennifer and William Layton needed buyers lined up and thought it would be great to partner up with another family owned business and offer wine juice buckets for home wine-makers. Within 2 hours, a plan and strategy was hatched. But time is ticking. The grapes need to be juiced before Oct 31st and the refrigerated truck costs big bucks! For $69.95, people can pre-order 6 gallon juice buckets of two types, both made from the Chambourcin grapes: Autumn Blush or Harvest Red. Harvest Red comes with the grape skins inside the bucket. Pre-orders only by phone by calling Molly Hilligoss at 443-523-5599 before 3pm, this Friday, Oct 24th. Juice buckets will be available for pickup at Brews Up on Saturday, Nov 1st from 2PM – 5pm and at Layton’s Chance Winery on Sunday, Nov 2nd, noon -4PM Winemaker, William Layton and Tony Hilligoss will be at both locations to provide their advice and expertise for the home wine-makers. Pickup times are firm. Again, the deadline for pre-orders is this Friday at 3pm, by telephone only.

For more information, contact Molly Hilligoss at 443-523-5599.

Neat!

Looks like it's going to set you back about $100 for a wine making kit, and about $60 for bottles. You're looking at about $8/bottle when all is said and done.
