Man Charged With Impersonating Police Officer

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County Police have arrested a man they say displayed a badge and handcuffs and told people in a Glen Burnie store that he was looking for a missing girl.

Police were called to the Family Dollar Store on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. Officers say two women reported that the man had approached them and made rude comments. Other witnesses said the man smelled of alcohol, showed them a badge and said he was looking for a missing girl.

While officers were interviewing witnesses, a man whom the witnesses said had accosted them drove by.

Police stopped the car and arrested 59-year-old Larry Jones of Pasadena and charged him with impersonating a police officer and drunken driving offenses.

Are you sure he wasn't a Secret Service agent?
