11th Annual Delaware State Police Ride for Domestic Violence

The 11th Annual Delaware State Police Ride for Domestic Violence Awareness will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014 beginning at Delaware State Police Headquarters in Dover. The police escorted ride will travel through scenic areas of Kent and New Castle counties and end at Bogey's Grill in Middletown. Sign up is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and the cost is $20.00 per person. The first 125 riders will receive a commemorative T-shirt and pin, and the first 500 will receive a D.V. awareness wristband.

The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of the devastating effects domestic violence has on victims as well as the community. In order to end domestic violence, the communities as a whole must reach out to victims of domestic violence and let them know that help is available.

Please join the Delaware State Police and law enforcement agencies throughout the state on October 11th to bring awareness to the issues of domestic violence and to send a message that domestic violence will not be tolerated in our communities.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, there is help available. Please call one of the 24-hour numbers listed below.

Wouldn't it be more descriptive and better to call it the Ride AGAINST Domestic Violence?
