Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On June 27, 2014 at 1546 hours a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped a vehicle at 63rd Street and Coastal Highway for an equipment violation. The Deputy identified the driver as Brenden Waller, 20, of Ocean Pines, Maryland. A K9 scan was conducted on the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to possible C.D.S. A search of the vehicle was conducted. The Deputy recovered suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Percocet, and a replica handgun which was contained in the glove compartment of the vehicle and Mr. Waller was arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Mr. Waller was later taken to the District Court Commissioner and released pending trial.

On June 29, 2014 at approximately 0214 hours, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed vehicle travelling west bound on Route 50 in Berlin with a broken tail light. The Deputy began to follow the vehicle. The Vehicle began traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was also swerving all over the roadway and weaving in and out of traffic. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Edward Allen Golden 2nd, 27, of Preston, Md. Mr. Golden acted confused and disoriented and had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. Mr. Golden did poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested. Mr. Golden was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released pending trial.
