Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 6-17-14

On June 9, 2014 at 11:55 pm Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were performing a uniformed security assignment at the Spinnaker Hotel. A Deputy was made aware of un-registered guests trespassing in a room and went to investigate. There were a total of 7 people in the room, 6 of which were under 21 years old. All had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The Deputies issued 5 alcohol citations for underage alcohol possession. To the following people:

Frank Joseph Cummins, 18, Honeybrook, PA Glen Austin Schuler, 18, Birdsboro, PA

Zachary Robert Laurer, 18, Honeybrook, PA Kyle Eugene Schlimme, 18, Honeybrook, PA

Tyler Aaron Donahue, 20, Honeybrook, PA

All were released pending trial.

On June 10, 2014 at 7:20 pm Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Route 90 west of Saint Martin’s River Bridge for a subject on the side of the road. Pedestrians and bicycles are prohibited on Rt. 90. When the first Deputy arrived on scene he noticed Richard Howard Mason, 54 from Bishopville Md., standing in the travel portion of the road causing vehicles to stop. Mr. Mason appeared to be intoxicated and admitted to riding his bicycle on Rt. 90 a short time prior. Mr. Mason was arrested and charged with DUI and Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Mason was released pending trial.

On June 11, 2014 Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was patrolling Ocean City on a underage alcohol enforcement assignment. The Deputy stopped a vehicle for several traffic violations on Wilmington Lane near 9th Street. The Deputy suspected there may be alcoholic beverages in the vehicle and asked the driver for consent to search the vehicle. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle and the Deputy located an open can of an alcoholic beverage in the floor board of the rear passenger seat. There had been a juvenile sitting in the seat prior to the search. The juvenile from Gilbertsville Pa. was issued an alcohol citation and released pending an appearance at the Department of Juvenile Services.

On June 11, 2014 at 9:45 pm Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 50 near MD 346. A warrant check on the passenger, Jason Jackson, 34 of Snow Hill Md. revealed a warrant through the Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Jackson was arrested and a search was conducted. The Deputy found a bag of suspected crack cocaine in Mr. Jackson’s pocket. Mr. Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released on personal recognizance pending trial.

On June 11, 2014 at 2142 hours, Deputies responded to the McDonalds of Berlin for a report of people using Illegal Drugs in a vehicle in the parking lot. Deputies were able to locate the same reported vehicle as it left the parking lot. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver. During the investigation Deputies located several different types of drugs. Deputies made two arrest from the vehicle. The driver Edward Allen Romero 24, of Pittsville was charge with possession of Heroin, and possession of paraphernalia. The rear seat passenger Stephanie Alexandria Dobrodey, 25 of Pittsville, was arrested and charge with Possession of Oxycodone, Possession of Suboxon two counts, and Possession of Paraphernalia three counts. Both were transported and seen in front of a District Court Commissioner and later released pending trail.

On June 15, 2014 members of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Assateague Road, in Berlin Maryland, in reference to locating a subject who was wanted for failing to appear in District Court.
The wanted subject was identified as Tristen Ann Vice, 28years of age of Berlin Md. Ms. Vice was located hiding in a closet in the rear of the residence. Ms. Vice was taken into custody on the warrant and additionally charged with obstructing and hindering a police investigation and resisting arrest.
Ms. Vice was taken before a District Court Commissioner and held on a $5,000.00 bond at the Worcester County Jail.

On June 13, 2014 at 0225 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on patrol in the area of Rt. 12 near Rt. 113. The Deputies observed a man standing in the roadway. The Deputies were able to identify the Subject as Michael Harmon 41 of Stockton Maryland. During the course of the stop Deputies found a suspected Marijuana cigarette behind Mr. Harmon's left ear. Mr. Harmon was charged with possession of Marijuana and released pending trial.

On June 15, 2014 at approximately 1:20 am a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Harrison Road and Worcester Hwy, Berlin, Md. for a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, the Deputy located a Dodge Neon that had left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver was identified as William Kelly Miller Jr, 25 of Eden Md. The Deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Miller’s breath. Mr. Miller did poorly on field tests and was arrested. Mr. Miller was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and released pending trial.
