Now Alexandria police are reviewing the stop.
With their hazard and headlights on, Heather Spinner and her husband were on Duke Street driving to the cemetery on June 12 when they noticed red and blue flashing lights in the rear view mirror.
"My brother-in-law behind us was actually pulled over for running a red light," Spinner says.

Real nice. The question should be did he place anyone in danger. I doubt he was the only one who ran the red light.
So now all police have to do is chase funeral processions.
The funeral home coordinated poorly with local police.
In some areas of the country, people actually stop and let a funeral procession proceed through an intersection.
Out of respect. Something most Americans lack nowadays
running the red is still illegal whether you are in a procession or not. opposing traffic though usually allows this out of respect, though this still doesnt make it legal. i imagine theres more to the story - as in, he nearly hit someone.
Imagine they ran the red light, and struck a car involving your loved ones. Now your loved one is seriously injured or killed. What now?
I am a cop fan BUT that cop is a POS.
Funeral processions ARE permitted under the law to proceed through red lights as long as they stay together as one continuous chain. That is the reason to have head lights on during a procession.
