Free-Market Analysis: This is a good example of the deteriorating level of US government behavior. It's disturbing because it seems to shows an escalating level of recklessness. We last wrote about this here:

That article was focused on the IRS sending a database containing confidential taxpayer information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. But illegally sending a database to the FBI can possibly be explained away, illegal or not. Claiming that hundreds or thousands of recent emails have been "lost" beggars belief.

This is a load of crap. Her emails don't reside on her computer. They always have to go through the IRS' bank of mail servers and be stored on a giant storage appliance known on a SAN. That data is most likely replicated to at least 1 other location *and* backed up via tape. I hope Congress presses the person who made this claim while they are under oath.
So we we have any problems with our Federal Returns just say we emailed the info to Lois Lerner's...Got it!

There is not 1 person that believes this bull and they know it. But if they blow smoke long enough a bigger scandal will come along and all will be forgotten.
