22 fire engine runs in one day. None of them in any way necessary. Just burning fuel, and wear and tear.

Oh, I forgot the 3 food runs that are "Pro Qa" every day.

It doesn't matter if its 44 engine runs. The public called 911 and the dispatch protocol calls for that response. If your the poor unfortunate person who called then you wouldn't complain.

I CALLED for an AMBULANCE, DH! Not a fire call!

What part of this is too difficult to understand?

When I called 911 once, they asked if I needed "Police, Fire, or Ambulance?"

So when I say ambulance, why does the fire department show up" Why don't the police show up?

Can't you people get this through your thick heads?????

You are mining for dollars, that's all.

For some reason paramedics are not allowed to go on ambulance calls in Salisbury. They are only allowed to arrive on scene in a fire truck.

You all need to get a GRIP. You can't change it so, stop wasting your time whining & complaining. Go find something productive to do.

You are an idiot trying to justify your job. Let me clarify something for you. The wannabe officer on the fire engine self dispatching on all ambulance calls is not dispatch protocol. If the calls you suggest are dispatch protocol then Jim Ireton and the City Council should demand Hoppes stop the practice or he loses his job. It is only dispatch protocol because Hoppes requested it to increase fire engine response. If I were the poor unfortunate one that called an ambulance and a fire truck pulled up I would be pissed and Jim Ireton and ALL the council members would be getting a phone call and an @ss chewing. I would also be writing letters to the editor about this wasteful spending in order to justify the paid fire staff that aren't needed. Not only is this an attempt to justify paid firemen jobs it is also an attempt to charge a fire engine response to your insurance company and a charge for a fire engine response in the County. You people are Scammers! The Hoppes Nigerian Fire Department.
