Woman Foils Purse Snatching On Kirkwood Highway

Location: 5600 block of Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 8:45 p.m.

Suspect: White male, approximately 6'1" tall, 250 lbs., wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt (no further physical or clothing description available). No video surveillance available for release.

Resume: Wilmington – An 18-year-old Newark woman was the victim of an attempted purse snatching that occurred at a public bus stop on the 5600 block of Kirkwood Highway.

The incident occurred yesterday at 8:45 p.m. as the woman stood with her purse hanging on her shoulder. A white male suspect grabbed the purse and attempted to take it, but the victim turned around, kicked the suspect in the groin, and ran away. The victim was not injured.
