Study: People Have More Empathy For Dogs Than Humans

No wonder they're called man's best friend. It seems that some people can show more caring for dogs than they do for their own species.

A new Northeastern University study uncovers the compassion people can feel for dogs.

People feel more empathy with dogs than they do for other humans, according to the study. However, people feel the same amount of empathy for children as they canines, the study adds.

10:39 and 12:10,
Your comments is the reason why people prefer dogs over humans. I'm one of those people. And, I'm a cat lover, too.

The nice thing about a dog is that they're always glad to see you regardless. They never ask you where have you been or who were you talking to. They never want to know what you did with those few measily dollars of your own money that they gave you at the first of the work week, that ran out mid week. They never make you lie when they ask you how they look, dogs don't care. They never say to you "we need to talk" which really means they need to talk and you need to listen and you then need to get in your car and leave home for no other reason then to avoid all of the afore mentioned needless headaches associated with the other human species. Dogs are man's best friend and will love you regardless. Women erase your name on all past contracts and pencil in a new name at the drop of a hat. I like dogs, they're man's best friend!

Dogs understand people better than people understand people.A response to what you say to them may not come immediately, but don't mistake that for a lack of understanding or intelligence. They are simply processing. They are displaying the ability to rationalize.Truly amazing creatures.
