Is it possible to download this in Mpeg?

I think it would be better and more efficient if there were podiums or tables for each candidate and moderator.

Getting up and down is distracting and wastes time.

I appreciate both of you for taking the time to do this debate.

I think more time should have been spent on solutions, which ones, how to implement them, etc.

This back and forth name calling, insinuations and finger pointing is not making the most of the limited time each of you had to speak.

And Ireton uses his last time to speak to repeat the color line he used earlier.

For me that is a big turn off.

Granted Ireton knows the laws and different organizations and has an edge there. In 4 years in office anyone would expect that.

In time Joe would be up to speed in those areas also, or at least we would hope so.

I'd still put my money on Joe. I think he can get things done without alienating anyone and insulting them.

4 years and nothing to show for it. Time to move on to biger and better things. Joe is the man for the job.

It's obvious that Ireton is still talking , but we are not listening anymore.
After 4 years of failure and promises , it is final , we do need change.
We need change in this city as well as the country , maybe this will set an example for other towns and cities. Mr. Albero , don't go back on any promises and please don't lie like all the others.
Our country has been torn apart by lies and promises , we are tired of it , good luck Albero.
I don't think you need luck , I do believe you are a man of your word , as I've noticed in the past.

Joe would get up to speed on all of it in a month.

Ireton has been in for 4 years and still can't keep his facts straight.

No matter who you like, it is obvious to everyone that Ireton was in attack mode during the entire debate.

I thought both Joe and Jim did a good job. Both are well aware that the big issue facing the area is jobs. Jim did explain what he's done to entice business but the question is has it worked?
As far as Jim assertion that he doesn't see things in color I understand what he was getting at but is this the right approach? I don't think so. I think things esp certain things must be seen in color. For instance the skate park. Jim said Sby is 40% minority. Are 40% of the users of this park going to or expect to be minorities? If not can we justify spending 100's of 1000's on something that will not benefit proportioniately.
Same with the city's Boards and Committees. Is each district represented equally? If not they should be disbanded and reorganized so all districts get a representative. Limit them to 5 members each choosen by the councilperson that represents their district and then confirmed to the postion after vote by all council members.

If you think about it Ireton was in the attack mode during the last election. He was in the attack mode against Barrie Tilghman, Allan Webster, Gary Comegys, Lore Chambers and John Pick. We were fired up for Jim and we wanted him in the attack mode. We liked that and we knew Jim was the one to turn this city around with his promise to clean house. We get Jim Ireton elected and he goes on the attack mode against all of us. He became allies with his enemies and turned on us. Apparently Jim Ireton has been in the attack mode all his life and that is not what we want. He appears to be the type of little boy that got beat up all the time and had his lunch money taken from him because he played with dolls. This guy is nothing more than and glorified office girl that wants power that he never had as a little boy. This miscreant will turn on his friends just to climb the ladder to power. This is not who we want to be mayor anymore. The time has come to vote for change. Vote Joe Albero for Mayor of Salisbury!

One question the moderator asked was not answered the way I would have liked to seen.

He was asking about the disproportionate number of African Americans that were being arrested. He said the number was higher for that group.

Anyone who has taken the time to look at the F.B.I.'s crime statistics would find that African Americans have been convicted for about 80% of the crimes while being only 12% of the population.

One of you should maybe have said that. It might be a tough sell in that forum, but the facts speak for themselves.

Ireton sees things in color. Perhaps he forgot how he said he was going to go tell all the MINORITY community about the Bricks vote, then stood on the street corner and practically called three members of council racists. Shanie Shields, too.

Affordable housing comes under the FAIR Housing Act, Jimbo, and you can't put people in there based on their color. Can't keep them out of it based on their color, either.

Jim the Hypocrite Mayor.

A person here said about Ireton:

This miscreant will turn on his friends just to climb the ladder to power.

How true that is.

Ireton has done more to divide this city into little groups grabbing for a piece of the pie than anybody, more to be mean to people than anybody, all the while putting his FakeyPhoney act on.

He lied at my door. I hope he loses by a landslide.

anonymous 9:18, please attempt to put yourself in our shoes. You are given 60 seconds to answer what should be a 5 minute response.

In all fairness, I believe Ireton did answer the question. He believes that even though prisoners are sent to pre release 90 days, (or so) before they are released from prison to get training for jobs and the outside world. Jim wants YOU the taxpayer to pay for additional training beyond the 90 days.

For me personally, we need to support after school programs. We need to embrace our youth and strongly encourage them with shining EXAMPLES.

For example. Out of the 100 people who attended the NAACP Forum, only 10% of those who attended were african american, taking away candidate and the hosts.

The idea that there was such a low turn out is a shame. At this time the african american community should be embracing and celebrating our President. America has proven we can make this country equal and balanced.

We need to lead by example with our youth. I brought my Grandson to that Forum and I believe he was the only child there. I had my Grandson with us when we donated turkey's during the holiday's. He was there when we made the $5,000.00 donation to the Salvation Army.

Share your excitement and wisdom with the youth of America. I believe that will change those statistics.

IRETON -its time for you to put your high heels back on and head up to Rehoboth to hang out. You have done "nothing" to help our once wonderful city head to progression and instead I have seen lots of business closures taking place - one for example just recently Aqua restaurant and several small business who got tired of the unfriendly way you look at things.
You look awful "flustered" during your interview with Joe - not professional at all in my opinion.

I agree. A part of the crime problem could be eliminated by being proactive and attempting to prevent children from going into a life of crime beforehand.
I would really like to see the PD more involved by doing such things as "walking a beat" in high crime areas and forging friendships with the residents esp the children.
I think Sby should take Sby to a new level with the concept of community policing and offer such things as "A Day At The Zoo w/The SPD"-"A Day At Shorebirds Stadium w/ The SPD."
The reality is if we do not spend the money now on high risk children we will spend it down the road when they are in the court and prison systems.

Joe, it will be interesting to see if Jim gets in trouble with the BoE for his comment "I don't see color". The boards position is you should see color so you can understand the different cultually needs.

After Jim's actions in the ladies room of Mojo's why is Jim Ireton still employed by the BOE teaching our children. Doesn't the BOE have standards? Hasn't anyone made a complaint to the BOE so they can investigate this poor decision and bad behavior. What goes on in a school teachers life outside a class room should affect their position teaching children. I don't want that pervert in the same building as my children. I know members of the school board read this blog so hopefully someone will find out the truth and expose Jim Ireton. Someone needs to bring charges against him.

Nothing is happening to Jim Ireton about his behavior at Mojo's because the women will not come forward and press charges.

I do not buy this "I'm afraid for my job." If they pressed charges and the mayor tried to get rid of them, they would have a lawsuit against the city so big it would fund their retirement.

What bugs me about this is those ladies are hurting Mojo's business. You heard me. They are hurting that business. By not coming forward, they leave the mayor free to keep doing what he is doing. I have not been to Mojo's since this came out because I don't want to be there some night when he comes in and does it again, who knows, maybe to my wife!

I wonder if these ladies have considered that? Maybe the real problem is they are protecting their "friend."

This is all assuming this is true and not just some set up for the campaign to get somebody else, like everything else Ireton does.
