Felton, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a 16 year old Lake Forest student after he brought a BB gun to school.

The incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. this morning as students were exiting the busses at the high school. A male student, who was riding the bus with the 16 year old, informed a teacher upon arriving at the school that the suspect told him he was carrying a gun and then showed it to him on the bus. The teacher alerted the school administrators and School Resource Officer (SRO) who immediately contacted the subject in the hallway and escorted him to an unoccupied office. A search of the student’s backpack revealed a plastic BB gun and a clip loaded with BBs. A parent of the 16 year old was contacted and responded to the school to take custody of the teen. The 16 year old was issued a criminal summons for Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument. He will appear in Kent County Family Court at a later date for arraignment.
