First of all, to the Salisbury Firefighter/s getting on Facebook and LYING about a 12% City Council pay increase, that is completely untrue.You may wonder WHY some Council Members are not interested in moving Rick Hoppes forward but it's examples just like this that probably stop them from doing so.
It was said on Facebook that the Council voted themselves a 12% pay increase, not true at all. Yesterday the Council brought up this topic, (as they are supposed to do every 4 years) and the Council majority said absolutely not.
The Council majority went on to say, we'll get a raise just as soon as the REST of the City Workers get their raise. Until then they refused to be any part of a pay increase.
Now, you just take a guess as to who is behind spreading such a blatant lie?
Secondly, a friend called me to tell me that Jonathan Taylor published something yesterday claiming that Councilwoman Debbie Campbell picked up a Mayoral Candidate Packet. IF Debbie Campbell had ANY interest in running for Mayor I would immediately step out of the way. However, that is NOT the case.
Jonathan Taylor's hate towards Debbie Campbell continues and he'll spread any lie he can to defame her, just as Jimmy Ireton will do. Hang out at the GOB on January 8th Jonathan and get the truth for once in your life. I'll be there.

Even "IF" Debbie had picked up a packet, how would JT know it was for her and not for someone else? Or maybe she was attempting to find a mole in the mayor's staff?

Your Mayor and City Council are a group of bufoons that suffer from the same psyhcosis as MOST of the other picayoon aldermmen that rule on the Eastern Shore.
ANYTIME there is a position open and the announcement is made public, the first thing a preliminary round of interviews does is weed out ALL LOCAL CANDIDATES. According to yours and other members of Council all over,
any resident whether they are allready performing the duties of the postion or not, THEY AREN'T QUALIFIED!!! I went to several fire training schools with Rick and you would be HARD PRESSED to find a man as dedicated and knowledgeable as he PLUS he also gets points for knowing the layout of the real estate known as SALISBURY/WICOMICO Md.
This pipedream Cambell and others share about the Chief has to be a reject from some metropolitan F.D. is oats that's allready been through the horse.He's as capable as ANYONE to competantly handle a blaze with the manpower and equipment Salisbury has at its disposal.The disservice afoot is to the citizens and taxpayers. By the way, WHAT THE HELL does Ireton and the Council know about the background needed to be the Chief? Has either of them ever facilitated ANY FIRE OR RESCUE operations. Are either one of them a MEMBER of any public safety organization? NO! Rick Hoppes DOES!
If I were Rick I'd retire right away and tell ALL OF THEM to put the Chiefs job UP THEIR ASSES!!!
