WICOMICO COUNTY JOINS MARYLAND RURAL COUNTIES COALITION!

Kudos to Joe Holloway, who invited County leaders from Frederick County and Allegheny County to speak at last night's Council meeting – thereby negating any effort by Rick Pollitt to oppose the recently formed coalition of Counties that are being screwed by “Plan Maryland” and its proponents led by O'Malley and Wicomico County native son, Richard Hall. Rick could only grin and bear it, and say that it’s OK with him.

Now, Wicomico is allied with seven other local jurisdictions, including Somerset County and Dorchester County, in resisting the State takeover of land use regulation and seizure of property rights. Caroline County may soon join the group.

No doubt, even before he left the meeting Rick's cell phone was vibrating with calls from the ringleaders of the Wicomico Environmental Trust (John Groutt, Karen Lukacs, Jim Rapp, Barry Johansson, etc) accusing Rick of being a turncoat – and WET's main mouthpiece and big-time O’Malley and Pollitt supporter, Michael Pretl, will be sounding off along with the local spielmeister of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Alan Girard.

Congrats to the Council for doing the right thing to protect and preserve property rights and local authority in planning and zoning, which mean nothing to O'Malley, Hall, Girard, and Pretl and pals. Better late than never.

Are they facing reelection? They actually did something 'for the people'!

If you had paid even the least bit of attention, you would have heard Pollitt say he met with the same people back in the summer and agreed then to support the Rural Coalition.

Thank you, Joe Holloway!! People need to get smart with regard to what some of these politicians have in mind. Everything some of them propose is a way to reduce the rights of the individual and increase the regulations of the "state" be it Federal or local.

Action -- by Joe Holloway -- is much louder than empty words by Rick Pollitt -- why didn't Tricky Rick do something sooner?
