Words don't matter as much as body language when voters decide on the man they trust to lead the nation. Despite all the policy debates, all the fact checking, all the pundits, we don't weigh and balance and research, not most of us. We don't even use our forebrains. We use the most primitive part of our brains, the part that can smell danger, that smells who is the alpha male, who is the omega, who is the rogue. The nose knows who is the real leader. We can smell a winner.
Mitt Romney passed the smell test for the third time last night, and Barack Obama failed.
Choosing a president isn't a beauty contest, although good looks help. It is about masculinity. It is about confidence and calm strength. Romney was the happy warrior of the debate. He was the guy so big he doesn't have to pick fights or show off his muscles. They are obvious from his stature and how he conducts himself. Obama was the junk yard dog, trying to protect his turf by mean looks and threatening to bite. He didn't actually get his teeth into Romney a single time. Obama's attempt at a steely gaze came across as unpleasant, hostile, even silly. He didn't faze Romney, and he didn't win anyone's confidence. He made himself smell nasty. A snapping dog doesn't make people feel safe.

I agree. Body langauge is very loud, and speaks volumes.
That is primitive indeed.A body language expert comes on Fox from time to time.To her everyone "appears" to indicate this or that by their body language,but she never commits herself.Unless she can absolutely determine that a person is lying,being deceptive,nervous,etc,we know as much without benefit of her "expertise".
You can tell if someone likes you based on body language.
These body language "experts" are correct in that they are stating and pointing out the obvious. Generally when someone is "squirmy" they are either nervous or a hype type of person. These "experts" put it into perspective by studying the traits of their subjects. Like obama for instance. His previous behaviour doesn't indicate hyperactivity so when he squirms chances are it's because of nervousness. It's not exact but there is a "science" behind this.
No 2 people respond in exactly the same way to any given question.I refuse to vote for anyone on "approximates".If a science is not exact it's useless.Would you take a pill that had not been tested and approved?Nor would I.
I tend to agree with you 12:46 and that's why I thought the Casey Anthony jurors came to the correct verdict. The state's case was based on since Casey knew her child was missing and she didn't report her missing and continued to party, get tattoos etc she must be guilty. I could not ever convict someone of murder when that manner of death was nothing more than a guess from the coroner.
