Really? I though everyone (man and woman) got the same unemployment benefit. Unemployment has become the largest source of income for {too) many Marylanders. O'Malley simply wants to keep as many people as they can dependent on Government and committed Democratic voters. I guess he may some day provide funding to help smokers kick the addiction of tobacco (not habit) but that would hurt his State revenues from helpless subjects.

Well no duh!! This will probably never change in Maryland, the good ole boy state.

has anyone ever read the story that puts women's salary above men's/ Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Okay, folks who need the explanation, Women have a tendency to have babies and stay home and take care of them. Sorry to give you the facts, but it's been known to happen. So, having a woman as a continuous employee in advancement from age 20 thru 60 is pretty small odds, but a lot bigger odds with the guys. You are a businessman who depends on your trained(at your expense) employees to expand your business every day.

Getting the picture?

I mean, DUH.

and if they work for Owe'Malley's government they earn even less once those furloughs are factored in.

Dude - take ur sexist crap and crawl back under your rock! Women do not TEND to have babies, they CHOOSE whether or not to have children. And a lot of it is pressure for jerks like you to have an heir - ya know, someone to carry your warped way of thinking forward. And if they choose to have children, most of them cant afford maternity leave because the baby-daddy decided his job was done and "left the building" to further his genetic line. Having a baby does not degrade the abilities of a woman to do a job any more than a man who slips a disc playing football that is laid up for a couple months.

Since time began women have filled a multitude of roles simultaneously while men only worried about their job. That means we can multitask circles around men and get the job done in less than six months!!!!

In case you don't get it - ANY employee who does their job well should be paid well. Last time I checked, a man can walk out your door with all your "training" just as fast as a woman could!

I mean, DUH!

Guess they never studied Perdue. Place is run mostly by women, and I'm sure they aren't "broke," by any means.

Nah - thats a good ol boy place for sure. I work there.

I like to know who conducted the study. Because if it was someone of O'Malley's Government then you know those numbers have been "ADJUSTED" whole lot !

I really hate these gross generalizations. There is never a direct comparison of education, experience, performance and years of service. Just apples v. oranges to get people excited over pretty much nothing. PEOPLE are paid today based on objective criteria. This is old news.

The reason behind this is because woman are the majority of the workforce (such as retail, fastfood) that make up the jobs on the low end of the pay scale.

Men are more even thinking dependable employees because they don't have monthly diversions.

You Ignorant People. If you all knew about the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, Maryland would not have this problem.

You are the ignorant one 7:07. LL was about pay equality this story is about earning power. Also the LL Fair Pay Act is federal law so it encompasses MD as well as every other state in the US.
