DHS Launches Young Immigrant Program

Beginning Wednesday, young illegal immigrants can fill out forms and pay $465 if they want to apply under a new program that would let them avoid deportation and obtain a U.S. work permit.

The change in immigration policy, an initiative of the Obama Administration, will have an immediate and visible impact in the Washington region, where as many as 50,000 people may be eligible.

"Right over here today, you are going to see 1,000 'Dreamers' waiting in line," says Gustavo Torres, the executive director of Casa de Maryland  .

Just another violation of the Constitution by Obama.

Since federal immigration laws are unconstitutional, then how can it be unconstitutional for Obama to violate an unconstitutional law?

Somewhere in New York Harbor sits an Icon of American Freedom and of the United States:
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door

And within 24 hours, those 1000 dreamers will be waiting in line at the local Dept. of Social Services with their hand out for the true dream! Free food, medical assistance, money and housing!

12:34 there are many young people that were brought here illegally as small children they go to school they work they pay taxes just like the rest of us. Why should they be penalized for things they themselves did not do. Not every Mexican or every black person is a deadbeat on welfare as you people seem to think. Just as most of the poor don't choose to be poor.

10:30 - I'm intrigued. Care to back that statement up?

2:28 I never mentioned Blacks or Mexican's. I agree it is not the children's fault. Are you a racist? Most illegals do NOT have to pay taxes. Will agree that they work. Most send it back home so the rest of them can come over. Again, I agree, poor don't choose to be poor but how many of the poor do you know who are willing to work at a fast food place AND a 2nd job to KEEP from going on welfare? As sad as it is, sometimes, it's a choice.

6:15. You didnt have to mention them. Most of the illegals that will take advantage of this program are probably mexican. You ask if im a racist. No I'm not I think people are people no matter the color of their skin their nationality or their religion and all should be treated equaliy. Most do pay taxes and they can't collect unemployment or social security because of their illegal status. They can't even claim tax returns. As far as poor I know many people that are working two jobs and can't make ends meet. Even when the jobs are above minimum wage. Look around at what it costs to live. You can work very hard in this world and still be poor enough to need help. I know some will say well they should have gotten a better education for a better job but if everyone did that who would work at everyday blue collar jobs. No one. Then what would everybody do. I also know people that do abuse the system they work good jobs yet get foodstamps. There are addicts that get and sel them. All people shouldn't be grouped together. Every situation is different just as it is for each illegal in this country.
