Resignation
Learned from Board of Education member L. Michelle Wright, a member of the Board since 2006, that she is resigning from the Board effective June 30. In a letter of resignation sent to Gov. Martin O’Malley on May 8, Mrs. Wright thanked O’Malley for re-appointing her last year. She said that while she intended to serve her full five-year term through 2016, new financial disclosure requirements in the state’s ethics law forced her to make a choice between her desire for public service and her family’s right to privacy.

I'd like to see that acronym changed to the NAAAP,or the National Association For The Advancement Of All People.Whenever an injustice was done that entity would represent anyone of any color. That change of one letter would strenghten that organization many times over almost immediately. We have moved into a new era, where injustices of all kinds and against all people need to be addressed. The days of singling out specific groups of people whose rights are the most likely to be violated are over.Anyone can be discriminated against at any time. The faster we become a color blind society the better.

I believe M. Wright is resigning for reasons other than financial disclosure. It was made known that she was having an innapropriate relationship with the superintendent and of course, no one at the board ever addressed those "rumors". As far as the other two, I would not be surprised if the entire board resigned. Who wants to be responsible for a superintendent that we currently have serving? Not me! With the pending lawsuits and the many wronged former employees, I wouldnt want to be in the position of serving on the BOE baord. Once the governor begins to get resignations, he will realize the complaints that have been sent, to his office, regarding our county are legitimate. I feel sorry for the staff that currently work directly under Freddy and for those who have lost their jobs, unfairly, under his leadership. It will all be brought to light in due time.

He needs to start doing what he knows is right. And he calls himself a Christian? Sad example to our community of real Christianity.
