Afghan NATO Base Attacked, Seven U.S. Soldiers Wounded

(Reuters) - A suicide car bomber killed at least nine people in an attack on a military airport in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, officials said, the latest incident of violence and protests since copies of the Koran were inadvertently burned at a NATO base last week.

There was no official indication the explosion at the gates of Jalalabad airport was linked to other deadly protests and riots, although the Taliban quickly claimed responsibility for the attack as "revenge" for the Koran burning.

Anti-Western fury has deepened significantly since the desecration of the Muslim holy book at the main NATO base in Afghanistan.

Guess Obama will say our troops deserved it because we burned a book. I'am sure he will apologize to the Afghans, after all, they invited us over there, didn't they.

The idiots who burned those Kurans should be dismissed from the military! They knew that it would cause an uprising!
We'd be uprising too if they burned a bunch of bibles!
How STUPID can they be?!
There are certain boundaries you just don't cross, regardless of what group of people you're fighting!

I say leave them to their own demise. Why should we die for the ignorant?
