Great work OC Today. When the corruption in the OCPD is handled appropriately lets work on getting Jeff Simpson's corruption in the SFD exposed.

They say anon comments can't be verified so they can't be trusted yet, they do a story about them?

Newspapers have to check and re-check their facts and sources yet they still get the story wrong? ( A week after the fact no less)

They always played this blog off as irrelevant now they are pointing their dirty little fingers at it saying the story can't be true or verified because of anon comments? lol

Sorry guys, your bread and butter is outdated and pretty much useless. You people have obviously read this blog and the comments so why didn't you investigate yourselves?

You didn't think it was newsworthy or it just took you this long?

Investigate now, is it over? Now run with the ball. Joe threw you a pass, take it and do the right thing. You sound mad because you didn't expose this and now you knock joe. Very silly, your town, get on it and ae it better, the ugly f the PD is out and from this point it is your responsibility to handle it..not do damage control for that corruption group!

As a previous member of OCPD and a higher ranking officer, this whole situation is not unexpected but is deserved by the Ocean City government. Those in power ( Mayor and City Council) were warned about Dipino's appointment as chief prior to the final decision. Since his name hasn't been mentioned, then Mayor Jim Mathias was partially responsible for this farce.

At the time of her appointment, she was EXTREMELY FAMILIAR with the City Council MEN. Her appointment was also made so that the higher paid, more experienced officers would resign, thus saving the city money in the way of salary and benefits in the police department. The government should now add up the amount of money Dipino has cost the city in litigation costs, lawsuits and payouts. I'm sure the city would have saved money by not making her chief.

This axe (Dipino) has sliced off much needed experience throughout the department and especially in the command staff. The knowledge and experience lost with the loss of so many previous officers has come at a high price paid by citizens and visitors to Ocean City.
