A Comment Worthy Of A Post 12-16-11

I have spoken with Earl on several occasions and have assured him that I am actively seeking a resolution to his issue. We have been friends for many years and he knows I will do whatever I can to help him through this.

Earl aside, the three ring circus that has taken over this blog is absurd. As you so poignantly stated, the assertions being made about our officers are meritless. Think about it, I’m the union president for goodness sake. Common sense should be all the validation you need to dispute what’s being professed here. This is nothing more than an attack by, dare I say, extremely problematic former employees (roughly 3 or 4) whose egos were too big to allow them to function in a paramilitary organization. You see, they were never disciplined, they were “picked on”. Do we have issues with favoritism and special treatment? We sure do. But it’s no more pronounced than in any other workplace in any other industry. More succinctly, our adult employees grow thick skin and learn how to work within the boundaries of their chosen profession. So GET OVER IT!

As for alleged misdeeds by our officers, I’ll comment simply that our officers and their families are normal, average, every- day people. True, like the rest of society, our officers are not always politically correct, some view speed limit signs more as a suggestion than a statute, and some apparently wear Halloween costumes that are morally inept. There you have it. I admit that ours is not a perfect world or profession. But that doesn’t mean the embellished and twisted tales expressed on this blog are even remotely accurate.

As for Tarek’s “smoking gun” evidence, I know he means well and I consider him a friend, but the information in his possession is nothing more than personal observation. It’s not evidence, its opinionated dialogue and nothing more. Nonetheless, I’ve also agreed to help him bring his slate of issues to light. Even the one’s from the documents he repeatedly threatens to release publicly, which, by the way, were already investigated some 4 years ago. I hope Tarek knows I mean him no harm or disrespect by saying that. But it’s time to recognize that our agency is not a corrupt syndicate, it’s just an outrageously dysfunctional family. Too many personalities and not enough square footage in the Public Safety Building I guess.

In order to quell this mess, I’ll be contacting the Department of Justice on Monday to request an investigation. I am beyond certain the investigation will disprove the malicious banter which has infested this blog. For those of you who were gleefully looking forward to watching the OCPD crumble under the immensity of its own in-fighting, I apologize for ruining your holidays. In the meantime, I’ll give the rabble-rousers the rest of the weekend to finish their closing arguments before the court of public opinion. How ironic… The union is protecting the employer. Now that’s a story.

Mr. Hester, thanks again for your comments. Your dose of common sense was much appreciated. I, for one, may take you up your invitation to visit.

Glen “Mac” McIntyre
President, Ocean City FOP

Publisher's Notes: Mr. McIntyre, I have to agree with everything you say here. While its unfortunate that "comments" get out of hand, I want to make it perfectly clear that our original content is in fact accurate, according to our source. It should also be noted that the OCPD could not speak about this matter as when it broke it was on the 8th and Campbell's resignation did not become official until the 9th and the Department had to handle it as a personnel matter. I find it interesting how it was implied that after the 9th they could talk about it but are now using the personnel issue as a reason to stay quiet in details. Mind you, I don't blame them one bit.

In closing, its unfortunate that Police Officer and Firefighters can seem to be the first to eat their young. This has always been a personal problem for me as I have stated for many years, most of them are truly clueless as to what BROTHERHOOD truly means. It is what it is but please do not shoot the messenger.

Continued...from below

Do you have a lieutenant that calls himself a tyrant, are thee email with him referring to himself proudly by this moniker? Would this NOT be considered a form of intimidation? Do you support this? We're this emails copied to his supervisors, what I am asking is if his supervisors knew of this tyrant moniker and if they did, why did they not stop this form of harrassment and intimidation?

Did this same Lieutenant ever hold the assigned of days off hostage, if yes did ANYBODY make his supervisors aware of the situation? Again, is this not intimidation and harrassment?

Do you believe that some of the negative comments or personal attacks on here are cops posting as anonymous? Have they been directed to do this, does command staff support this if it happening? Are personal attacks and insults being made by cops, are any of the threats being made by cops?

Do you support LT Kirkpatrick? Do officers in Ocean City support this LT, do you all believe he is truthful and honest, does not play favorites and does not give some people special treatment? Is this your position? Do you disagree with Campbell's  assertions that this LT has been less than forth coming? Do you believe he delayed getting an answer to Campbell and was dishonest when he used the council as cover? It is clear he never spoke to the council, or is Mr. Hall lying? Who does the FOP support LT Kirkpatrick or Campbell? You supported this D Hester, now respond to this very simple question?

Do you believe that Chief Dipino has an open door policy, can officers go to her and speak to her on issues? This is true, the FOP as a whole supports her on this point? Are there any emails that exist that are critical of the chief and the way she handles those that are not favorites? If yes will you share them? If you do go to her will she listen, is it true that most officers feel she is great at talk and poor with action? That only the special few can get favorite treatment, you say yourself OCPD has issues with favoritism and special treatment, she she part of this problem?

Were you bothered by a judge that used the term repugnant? Read his statement, does that concern you? You you believe the Chief is truthful?

Do you believe Charlie was handled properly? Do you think that LT. Kirkpatrick handled it properly and professionally? Or do you think he made it harder on Campbell being of a personal vendetta? Do you believ the LT was honest throughout the entire Charlie ordeal and do you think he has been TOTALLY honest since?

You took the time to respond to D Hester, I hope I get the same couresty! These are Important questions that need an answer!

Again,

Bureaucratic policy crap is taking place... The point is you mistreated an fellow officer which happen to be a k-9 yet you bring in information which has nothing to do with that...

Again politics with smoking mirrors here again...

You don';t have to tell me, I KNOW FOR A FACT POLICE OFFICERS ARE CORRUPT... I HAVE SEEN IT FIRST HAND SPECIALLY OCPD!!!!!!

That's right bring in the Crooked DOJ and watch them DO NOTHING AS USUAL... For god sacks they did nothing in the fast and furious debacle...

Mr. McIntyre,

How can you type with a straight face? Everyone knows exactly how corrupt your organization is including on a national level.
By officer's own admittance you fabricate evidence (tell dogs to alert and "make it look good"), trample people's rights, abuse those who need your protection. And what do you do? Support and defend the criminal cop as acting within protocol from beatdowns to outright murder. Your "brotherhood" is no more than a sanctioned criminal enterprise. An intimidating terrorist organization similar to Hamas or Hezbollah as they too have community outreach programs feeding the poor and funding education. Yet you are proud of the OCPD in all its lowlife glory.
You should be ashamed to represent what you represent. How do you sleep at night?

Mac,

Your response is spot on as to the questions or accusations presented by a minorority. As a tewenty-three year Law Enforcement Officer I can say that I have ridden that rollacoaster many times. The real problem we see here is than some will never understand that in all agencies there are those that appear to be "favorites". There will be that road warriors that all rank and file love but the brass loves to hate. It is what it is.

There will be those who choose to go the administrative route for a career path. They will be judged harshly by those who choose to work the road. We all know officers that should not be wearing a badge.

How many of these town criers attend monthly F.O.P. meetings. The same five or ten people are constantly there willing to do whatever it takes to get matters resolved. You may have over one hundred sworn. Funny how that works. The bottom line is we are a paramilitary structure. If in fact your Chief has an open door policy then I commend her. Although it does at times undermine the chain of command. It does show a leader willing to listen. I know agencies one would be charged for not following the chain of command.

I understand the heart felt concerns by this K-9 officer. It sounds this awesome K-9 had some serious issues. Yes I would agree they are a tremendous tool in fighting crime. However I could never artriculate the life of a K-9to that of an actual officer. The K-9s are a tool to fight crime. The emotional bond a handler and his K-9 partner develope is strong. One has to keep emotions out of the equation. We learn this is the academy. One can not allow emotions to dictate sound logic.

I am sorry this officer chose the public media to try his call to resign. I can not understand why this officer would not have given the F.O.P. the oppurtunity to resolve this matter.

As for a Lt. that uses the moniker of Tyrant. That is almost laughable. There is not an agency in the country that does not have that guy or girl lol. Anyone who has served in the milatary or changed departments knows of that very person. One just has to know how to deal with that type of personality. It comes with maturity. I guess a good question would be do these Lt.s show favoritism to top producers. People who do not abuse sick leave. People who do the "right" thing all the time. People who do not bitch when asked to do the job. Just asking? I do not know these men but I do know what it is to supervise cops. It aint easy.lol

In closing we all have to remember the public in which we serve expects true courage, integrity, and professionalism form us. If we lose this then we have lost all that we are. Mac I can say no one has fought harder then you have for the rank and file in your agency. I have a great deal of respect for those like Mac that fight every day to see that we remain on a level playing field in a profession that it is so hard to monitor. As for those who want to air dirty laundry and call out supervisors by name you should be ashamed. The bottom line is we are one. We may not be perfect. I equate this to spilling family matters in public. It is not the forrum to resolve these types of issues. Let the men and women you elected to serve you on your F.O.P. to fight the fight. If you feel they are lacking in total commitment elect someone else.

May God watch over us all.

Your Brother from lodge 111.

3:54 you are a liberal cry baby. There are more clergy indicted annualy then law enforcement. The bottom line is a small fraction of officers do what you imply. These post show they can not get along over an adiministrative issue. What makes you believe for one minute they could all get together and tell a huge lie. That is just M.S.M. bullshit. Go back to watching dirty cop programs or smoking your bong talking about how f'd up the American way is. My guess is you have fallen at some point on the wrong side of the laws of the land. The cops did not make the laws they enforce them. If you know of any of these "corrupt cops" report them. At least be able to qualify your slanderous statement. I would love to hear your story.

Another cop trying to tell the rest of us that there are "just a few bad apples". Uh huh. Right. The O.C. police are the most arrogant, abusive, power-tripping, midgets I've ever seen. Just the behavior he listed SHOULD make him ashamed and you can bet your life that the things he ADMITS to are just a small fraction of what goes on in that department. Its beyond shameful. The law applies to everyone that ISN'T wearing a gun and a badge. Thats pretty much their viewpoint...

6:21 is absolutely right. Some members of the OCPD are highly respectable, other are immature and childish and abuse their power. I have seen them in court giggling like school girls on the witness stand while looking at their police buddies in the crowd. Others found this not to be amusing and very unprofessional. The only thing they found amusing is how much of a joke many of these giggly cops are that get away with committing the same crimes they testify to put other people in jail for and destroy their lives. People are fed up with the f-ed up corruption.

Stop trying to weasel out of the problem you created. The comments got out of hand because of you. Now it appears you are placing all the blame on Earl by saying " I want to make it perfectly clear that our original content is in fact accurate, according to our source". From the git go you screwed up the story. Who wrote that "Officer Campbell made attempts to convince the powers to be in Ocean City to front an additional $6,000.00 for another surgery"

. If indeed the " our original content is in fact accurate, according to our source" statement is true than you are now claiming Earl is a liar. So the DT is a liar, Earl is a liar, OC Today, of which you gave a glowing report, turned out to be a free newspaper that did not know dipshit.

Believe me eastern shore firemen and cops will remember the great statement you were right down stupid to make "In closing, its unfortunate that Police Officer and Firefighters can seem to be the first to eat their young" Just might be time to shoot the messenger.

@4:12
I am as conservative and law abiding as they come. Never been accused of or convicted of anything except a speeding ticket (which I did not earn as I was close to the "suggested" limit. The only reason more cops aren't convicted is because of LEO Omerta' and LEO CYA.
The MSM does not accurately report cop abuse and murder because there would be riots if they did and the FOP and other organizations lobby so hard against bad publicity. But it is there and much more widespread than you or the FOP will admit too, statistics available like at injustice everywhere website. I do not watch MSM cop propaganda because it is an attempt to condition people to the abuse as status quo. I would support police if they would stop breaking the laws they are sworn to uphold. Instead of making an apprehension, cuffing someone then kicking them in the head 5 times for a little extra judicial punishment after which the "brothers" enjoy a chest bump and high five congratulating each other on a job well done, then cruising back to HQ at 80 mph to falsify reports. Open your eyes, There are indeed some serious problems in this nations police force. FIX it instead of diminishing and defending it!

Amem 1:25 and it will be the last time I step foot in Cathy's Jo's. Sorry Cassandra. Bet this comment doesn't see the light of day but that's okay because I'm going to call Cathy Jo and tell her and also post it on the so called anti Albero blogs!
