Detectives Seek Public’s Help In Cold Homicide Case

Bridgeville, DE- Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in helping to solve a Bridgeville homicide that occurred in 2008.

On Saturday, December 20, 2008 at approximately 9:20 a.m. the body of Michael J. Chicosky was found deceased in a field off of Apple Tree Road in Bridgeville. The death was ruled a homicide by the office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The initial investigation by homicide detectives revealed that Chicosky and two other male subjects had been observed driving around the Bridgeville area in the victim’s 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser on Friday, December 19th. This was the last time Chicosky was seen alive.

On Saturday, December 20, 2008 at approximately 7:15 p.m., fire personnel were told to respond to Band C Storage located on Cannon Road (SR 18) in Bridgeville, for the report of a vehicle fire. After the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that the vehicle was the PT Cruiser owned by the victim, Michael Chicosky.

Homicide detectives have since followed several leads in this case, however, have not been able to make an arrest at this time.

The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this homicide to contact Detective Mark Ryde at 302-741-2730.
