Cheney: US Should Have 'Immediately' Destroyed Lost Drone

Former Vice President Dick Cheney says the United States should have “immediately” destroyed the drone that went down in Iran so the Tehran regime could not benefit from any intelligence that might be gained. Cheney also said on CNN Monday that the end of active U.S. military presence in Iraq — and the imminent withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan — are perilous due to the Iranian nuclear threat.

“The right response to that would have been to go in immediately after it had gone down and destroy it — you could do that from the air, you could do that with a quick air strike — and in effect make it impossible for them to benefit from having captured that drone,” Cheney told CNN’s Erin Burnett. “I was told that the president had three options on his desk — he rejected all of them.

“They involved sending somebody in to try to recover it or — if you can’t do that, and admittedly that would be a difficult operation — he certainly could have gone in and destroyed it on the ground with an air strike,” Cheney said. “But he didn’t take any of the options — he asked nicely for them to return it — and they aren’t going to do that.”

A gift from Obama.

Sit down Cheney. Clown. While you sent our men and women chasing off in the deserts of Baghdad, the real enemy, that has concrete terrorist ties, was building their nuke capability next door. I doubt anyone needs to be listening to Cheyney's advice on anything.

Yea, sit down Cheney. Had the US destroyed that drone Iraq might have interpreted it as an act of aggression and done something other than closing seaways that serve as major channels for oil shipping. If he had done that Barack wouldn't be able to get gas over $5/gallon before the election. Now they're not only doing that, they're using the technology they garnished against us. We are tired of the US being a superpower, and this administration is going to keep knocking it down for the next 5 years plus.

It's Iran not Iraq you dolt ! And Cheney is absolutely correct. Obama could have gone in and retrieved it or blown it up but in true traitor Democrat fashion he let them have it.

Didn't Cheney get FOUR deferments to make sure he didn't have to serve in Vietnam because he had, in his own words, "other priorities"? Not a word he says is credible when it comes to the military.

Cheney is a freaking lunatic. STOP TRYING TO START WARS.

Its amazing how much people think that other countries media is construed... when in actuality, we are the ones being blocked from the truth.
