La Red Health Center, one of Sussex County’s leading health service organizations, will hold a candlelight vigil in remembrance and hope from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. at The Circle in Georgetown.
Started Dec. 1, 1988, World AIDS Day focuses on increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education on AIDS. For this World AIDS Day - and all year round - the focus is to Act Aware, and acting aware means finding out the facts about HIV and using this knowledge to protect oneself and others from HIV infection. Many people do not know how HIV is transmitted, how it can be prevented, or the reality of living with HIV today.
