Salisbury Police Department Sexual Assault Press Release

On October 27, at approximately 1:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a local nursing facility to meet with the victim of a sexual assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult female who stated to the officers that she had been sexually assaulted. The victim advised that during the previous night she had been asleep in her bedroom when she was awakened by two (2) subjects that had made entry into her residence in the Moss Hill Area of Salisbury. While one of the suspects searched the residence, the second suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was not injured. Detectives responded to the residence and recovered forensic evidence of the assault. Officers and detectives from the Salisbury Police, the Maryland State Police and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department are working collaboratively on this investigation. Additional personnel from all three agencies have been deployed in this area as a supplement to the normal patrol.

Evidence to suggest that this assault is related to the home invasion that occurred on Onley Road is inconclusive at this point.

If anyone has any information regarding this assault they are asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or to contact Crime Solvers of Delmarva at 410-548-1776. Anonymous information will be accepted at both locations.

Great. Some people think (apparently even police officers) that you are not "injured" when you've been sexually assulted.
