Carl Sagan

“Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts… perhaps the fear of a loss of power.”
John Steinbeck

“Experience has shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”

Mark Twain

“No matter how corrupt, greedy, and heartless our government, our corporations, our media, and our religious & charitable institutions may become, the music will still be wonderful.”

Some of these quotes sure hit tonight city council on the head. Especially the first few.

I think they did the right thing. No pain, no gain. Salisbury been in a rut.

From whatI see, 3/4 of the the population of Salisbury thinks they are smarter, and MUCH wiser, than either Sagan OR Jefferson. Because, you know, our government DOES NOT violate our rights at will, abuse their power, or do anything thats not in OUR interest. I wouldn't call those people blind, stupid, hoodwinked, or bamboozled. I think Sagan and Jefferson already did THAT.
