Greek Lawmakers Set To Defy Angry Protesters After Clashes

Athens, Greece (CNN) -- Greek lawmakers looked set to defy tens of thousands of angry protesters Thursday, approving a new round of tough budget-cutting measures to try to bring the national debt down.

Protesters began arriving in the square in front of parliament hours before the major national demonstration was scheduled to begin, holding red flags and chanting "People, you can take power in your own hands!"

They have the right idea, which is very well stated in the first sentence of our own Declaration of Independence. However, those "in power" don't like, and will not, surrender that power very easily. They usually just laugh at this "chanting" and "marching". Remember, those "in power" have an entire ARMY (police, at every level, everywhere) who, without a second thought, will beat and kill every citizen (read that again, citizens...) in front of them. They forget who their REAL bosses are, and they have no sense or appreciation of history. I get the feeling they soon will....it is INEVITABLE.
