Laurel, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a 29 year old Georgetown man after he broke into a Laurel home yesterday morning.
The investigation into the incident began at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Monday, September 26th, after troopers were told to respond to a home located in the 11000 block of Sycamore Road, Laurel for the report of a possible burglary in progress. Upon their arrival, troopers contacted the homeowner who advised them that he had just returned to the house and observed that someone had rummaged through the interior. The homeowner felt that that the person was possibly still inside of the residence. The responding troopers entered the home but found it to be empty. They also noticed that someone had in fact entered the home through a bathroom window and once inside, removed a video game console, video games, and money from the home before fleeing.
As the troopers were conducting their investigation at the scene, other officers were conducting a search of the area. It was at this point that they observed James Miller, 29, walking in the area of Bargain Bills Flea Market located on County Seat Highway, just behind the residence that had been burglarized. Upon making contact with Miller, troopers located the money and video games that had been stolen from the home in his possession.
James Miller was arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court 2 and then committed to the Department of Corrections for lack of $2600.00 bail.
