ARMED ROBBERY ARREST

On April 6, 2011 at approximately 12:00 noon, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Eagle Express Mart on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival the officers met with the clerk who advised that the store had been robbed by a lone suspect. The clerk continued that the suspect had entered the store and had walked to the rear area, loitering and watching a keno monitor. The suspect then approached the clerk and produced a knife, demanding the U.S. currency from the cash register. The suspect took the currency then fled out of the front entrance of the store towards the rear of the store. The clerk was not injured and attempts by responding officers to locate the suspect met with negative results.

Salisbury police detectives responded and became engaged in a number of witness interviews at the scene, in north Salisbury and in Delmar, Delaware. As a result, detectives positively identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging the suspect with the robbery.

On today’s date, at approximately 8:13 am, Officers received a call to respond to a motor vehicle accident on Union Avenue. Upon arrival the officers found that the operator of the involved motor vehicle was the wanted suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

On April 4, 2011 at approximately 11:49 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Wailes Street and observed the below listed suspect trespassing on posted residential property. The officers approached the suspect and immediately detected the scent of burning marijuana. The officers observed that the suspect was smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette. When the suspect observed the officers, the suspect fled from the area on foot. After a substantial foot chase, the suspect was caught and taken into custody. The suspect was still in possession of the suspected marijuana cigarette. The suspect was also in possession of a baggie of suspected marijuana.

On April 6, 2011 at approximately 3:47 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding warrant for a theft that occurred on March 17. On that date officers were called to the Walmart Department Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who indicated that unknown suspects had taken computer equipment from the store without making payment. Officers were able to identify the below listed suspect and obtained the arrest warrant. The investigation is continuing as to the second suspect.
