Be Very Careful Who You Vote For In Law Enforcement

The word on the street tonight is that a certain former police chief has reportedly been calling some former employees trying to recruit them, (should he win) to come down to another County. He claims he's going to get them LEOPS and all kinds of bells and whistles but the County Commissioners aren't too happy about these promises being made.

You see Folks, crime is a business to some. The MORE crime you have, the more money you draw in from the State and Feds. We have ALL seen how things went in Salisbury over the past 12+ years. Why didn't everyone know crime was as high as it is. Why did certain people deny there were ANY Gangs in Salisbury.

The more crime you have, the more money you bring in. Heck, even O'Malley started sending Salisbury additional funding because Salisbury has become such an embarrassment to the entire state of Maryland.

Now mind you, while I wouldn't wish a certain former police chief on even my worst enemy, I will admit that I'd LOVE to see him get elected so Salisbury News can go down there and keep tabs on what's going on. The choice is all yours.

In the mean time, if you do vote for a certain somebody you can expect that person to come into that Police Department and clean house.

If you vote one way, expect crime to go through the roof and while the commissioners may say they won't support the additional expenses one candidate is allegedly offering to outside officers, perhaps the state and feds will come along and pay for their additional expenses as well. After all, to one candidate crime is a business.

The County Commissoners do the hiring...the Sheriff only recommends. Better be siding up to some Commissoners first.

Allan Webster would be the worst possible Sheriff Somerset could ever have thrust upon it.

I have heard good and not so good stories about Sheriff Jones performance as Sheriff. However as I recently suggested to a Mt.Vernon resident "It is better the Devil you know than the one you do not know".

Alan Webster would cost the Somerset taxpayer significant monies just to fund his travel agenda. Webster lives to travel to any and all law enforcement meetings regardless of where they are or how much he would bill the county to send him.

I suspect he would continue his demonstrated wearing of civilian clothes rather than the tridional wearing of the Sheriffs uniform. As he toured about the County, and the State in his unmarked, county provided vehicle.

As Chief of the Salisbury Police Dept., he consitently demonstrated a reluctance to cooperate with other Wicomico County police agencies.

Mr Webster seeks the Office of Sheriff in Somerset simply to feed his ultra ego. He cares not a wit for the people of Somerset, only his desire to carry the prestige of being the Sheriff of Somerset County.

Somerset voters would be well advised to think long and hard about this position. Webster is a "come here" no matter what he tell's you about his connection to the Eastern Shore,he is Baltimore through and through.

Please do keep an eye on him if he is elected, we know nobdy else will.
I wonder If he approves of all the nasty personal attacks being tossed at the current Sheriff Dept roster by his supporters.
