SEARCH FOR JUVENILE ESCAPEE UNDERWAY

(Baltimore, MD) – State, county and city police are on the lookout for a Baltimore teen who absconded from the custody of juvenile authorities yesterday.

The youth is identified as Frederick D. Catchings, Jr., 18, who had previous addresses in the 1300-block of Division Street and the 1500-block of Riggs Avenue in Baltimore. He is described as an African American male, 5’5” tall, 140 pounds, with a tattoo on his neck.

Catchings is reported to have left the custody of juvenile authorities from Utah at about 6:00 p.m. yesterday while awaiting a flight at the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington International Airport. Up until the transfer, he had been in the custody of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services.

The Maryland State Police Criminal Apprehension Team, the Baltimore Warrant Apprehension Task Force, troopers at State Police barracks in the Baltimore Metro region, as well as county and city police in the area have been notified and are searching for Catchings. Anyone with information on the location Catchings is urged to contact 911.
