Man Cited After Cement Truck Overturns

State Police are investigating a crash that closed the eastbound lanes of Old Baltimore Pike in Newark this afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. this afternoon as Wesley Gamble of Townsend, DE was operating a 2005 Mack cement truck on northbound Walther Road. Gamble attempted to turn onto eastbound Old Baltimore Pike but lost control of the truck and overturned in the eastbound lane. Gamble, who was trapped in the vehicle for a short time, was transported by EMS to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The investigation into the crash in continuing and charges are pending. The eastbound lane of Old Baltimore Pike was closed for approximately 3 hours as the roadway was cleared.
