Attempted Restaurant Fraud

Hey Joe

I am The Owner Of Chef Fred's

And I just got a call from a lady who said her name was Patsy Turner and she claimed she was here for dinner last night a party of six and said everyone was upset because their food was not cooked right.

The First time She called she talked to my wife and said she had a bacon cheese burger and some had the buffet they arrived about 6:00 paid w/ cash and wanted to come in tonight and eat for free because of their unhappiness. my wife said she would have to check into it.

When She Called Back I talked to her she said she did not tell the other lady some had the buffet and the kids burger was pink and not well done ,and she had the grilled cheese. prior to and after this I checked my POS transaction log detail and we did not sell any bacon cheese burgers at all or grilled cheese sand. which would be a kids grilled cheese! not to mention we don't even have a buffet on Sundays the only party of six we had, came in @ 2:00 and they all had steamed crabs when I told her we had no record of her order on my pos system She hung up.

Beware !!!

PS. A lot of people try to scam restaurants all the time

Chef Fred

The # She called from was 443-859-8053

I am in food business also. When I think I have seen it all a new one pops up. If the food was that bad why would she want to come back again?

Should have told her and her party to come on in for the free dinner, sat them down, and just as they got comfortable told them it was time to leave.

I would have had her return with her receipt for a full refund. problem solved.

According to my search, it's landline number (even though 443) in Salisbury over close by the University.

WOW is anyone surprised that someone would want a refund at Chef Freds.....last two times I have been there it was terrible. Service was very very slow, food was not at all what it use to be. It used to be a good place to go and hang out and have a good time. But when Chef Freds got greedy and started to atrack the "party croud" is when it when way down hill. And if your wife is "Brenda" I did complain the second time (I will always give someone a second chance) she is a horrible person to have to deal with. And will never come back

isn't it great dealing with the public? they have been trained to complain to get money and or free services in return. it's no different than stealing.

This same lady with the same number called Olive Garden on Tuesday July 26th at about 4:35. She claimed that they had a party of 6 and that the food was cold and the service was bad. The manager was trying to find out what server she had and what was wrong with the food so that we could write up a proper report. She was very vague about everything. She mentioned how everyone had linguine with some type of shrimp dishes and her daughter had an undercooked cheeseburger. We replied stating that we don't serve cheeseburgers at the restaurant and she hung up immediately.

The police should arrest her ass!

Doesnt suprise me.People reach new lows everyday in trying to scam others, attempting to get something for nothing.Apparently they like cheeseburgers and dont like to pay for their meals.

if only chef freds put as much work into their service as they did this investigation they would probably have a better restaurant. we had the worst experience ever there, paid our bill and ain't goin back.

1:45 and 10:57 What business do you own thats perfect? Or you don't own you work for someone else and everything you do is perfect. I would love to talk to your boss about Mr or Ms perfect...

I have been to Chef Freds every few months and completely enjoayed my meal there every time. I have never had a complaint on the food or the service. 10:57/1:45 what was the point of you complaining on a blog? Every restaurant has thier off experiences and off nights. Give it another chance.

I know who that lady is (she used to work for people I know) and she is crazier than a hoot owl!!!!!! Stay away from her and do not believe any "stories" she comes up with!

I have started making a policy that if I get bad service, or meal. I simply won't return to an establishment. I have always had good food and service at Chef Freds, however, I will never go to Backstreet (much to my dissapointment because I really liked it until one night), Specific Gravity, Wendy's South, Olive Garden (the last meal, the dining area temperature was so hot where we sat, we sweated the whole time even after asking for it to be adjusted) or rent from Enterprise Rental cars again, buy from the Car Store, or do business with Eastern Shore Water because of their misleading sales tactics they used to have in the Money Mailer. It's called principal. Before long, I may run out of options.

BTW, (10:30 cont'd) This is after opporunity was made for them to correct problems(s)

so 10:30 you admit a place like backstreet you really liked until one bad night... you've enjoyed it many times but one bad thing happened so you won't go again??? so apparently you are perfect at everything you do every day, no matter what the circumstances?
