This is a BALTIMORE interview, dip sh!t. He's INVITING Baltimorons to come to OC this weekend. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Unbelievable the continued thought process at City FAIL.

Always error on the side of caution when it comes to people - not stupidity.

Should be a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat show this weekend - regardless of the weather.

Oceancitylive cams for those who want to watch.

OC needs to close for the season period. We have no real testing over here and becoming the 2nd largest city in MD will not be a smart idea for the summer time.

He is a DIP SH!T! How can he be allowed to go against Gov's orders and advertise re-opening beach and boardwalk?

Joe are you going to be opening up with some restrictions are you still labeled as a none eccential business? I hope you can at least get some business but the idiots across the bridge will have bo respect for the people on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. You think OC mayor is a nut, try living in Salisbury with this so called mayor. I have seen a lot of for sale signs in Salisbury so people are leaving. Wishing you the best even though I've never met you in person.

What an idiot!! How in the heck can you social distance in Ocean City!! When there isn't a pandemic Ocean City is not healthy or safe!! He is a moron!! This will backfire on him, numbers will rise!!

1:56, Absolutely not, I will not open. Even if they go to stage 2 I am considering not reopening. I will either get a guarantee Hogan won't shut me down again or I will not reopen. What 99% of you don't realize is that the mass majority of my inventory has been thrown out. ALL of it has to be replaced at a cost. Then, when I do reopen I'll be told I can only hold 50% of my normal business there. Same amount of employees, yet 50% less business. It's not worth it. It looks like 2020 is toast.

Apparently he is not taking this very serious. Maryland lives are more important than opening a beach or a boardwalk. I understand bussinesses are suffering but human life is more important!! Maryland numbers are constantly rising, everyday!! I don't know what numbers he is looking at.

If he wanted everyone to stay safe, he would not be going against the Governor's orders. He feels he is more important, he likes to buck the system. No child of mine would be working down there this year!! Worcester County you need to take charge of this situation. You have had as of today 75 cases and I see it rising by leaps and bounds.

And 100s of businesses close resulting in lower revenue for the city and county guess what happens next ? Your property taxes will be hiked and you’ll have to sell

Because the Governor didn't close the beach and boardwalk. Ocean City closed them. Businesses in O.C. have to continue with state order. Just the boardwalk (for walking) the beach and parking lot are opening, which again were not closed by the Governor.

Smart move, Joe! I am stunned at the business owners I read online who are itching to open up like they think they are going to do regular numbers. Is it really worth the risk to them, their employees and most loyal customers of getting sick for maybe 20% of normal business? There is NO business I am willing to go to other than the grocery store for at least another month, even my favorites.

Whoever predicted the grocery stores would get wiped out by this weekend's visitors may have been right. I've seen one report already that Harris Teeter's (Fenwick) shelves have been getting cleaned out already.

I've noticed a trend over the last 10+ years where the big hotel chains have come into OC, gobbled up older "motels" and land, built their main names as well as 2nd/3rd/4th class type hotels.

Same with West OC.

Those big names will never ever hurt since they have big $$$$$$$ AND stay open year long. This is just a blip for them and one heck of a business model to stay in business.

Sad what was...was....what now is and solid for the foreseeable future.

MONEY/INVESTING and the eventual gaming (casinos) that will come.

Its like watching the birth of Atlantic City all over again. We we do know what ended up happening there! Now AC is trying to reimage into what was OC back in the day.

Just a different take.

The numbers are a hoax. This lockdown is a sham. We need to pressure our leaders to open up our economy.

This proves Dictator Hogan, aka Hitler, is allowing his "elite" group do what they want and he does not care about the health of the Eastern Shore permanent residents. Hogan, aka Hitler, needs to put up blocked roads to the Eastern Shore and both bridges into OC. Hogan is supposed to be the Governor of all MD not just the Baltimore / DC corridor.

The numbers are fake!!! Stop believing this nonsense!

Good. Then stay home. It’s obvious that you don’t know how small business works. Most of them won’t make it through this. Also, the death toll numbers are a sham!

ALOT of infections & spread is what it looks LIKE to me !!! DUGH !!!

All they care about is $$$$$$ , Lives come LAST !!!!

Keep across the Bay germs < Across the Bay !!!

This interview happened almost a week ago. Funny how this is the first I've seen of it locally.
