Delmarva Power Rate Hike
A virtual public hearing to take comments on Delmarva Power’s request to adjust rates (Case No. 9630) for the distribution of electric energy will be held on May 28, 2020 7:00p.m. To speak at the hearing, send an email to psc.pulj@gmail.com by 12:00p.m. on May 27, 2020. This is ground work for the very expensive "free" wind electricity coming soon.
How does Delmarva Power request a raise increase while Delaware Co-op lowers theirs???? Should make you wonder and ask questions if you are subject to this.
waste of time, the puc doesn't give a rats behind about the consumer and DP has them in the back pocket.
DP did some real shady crap, and when I complained the puc made it as difficult as possible to follow thru with the complaint, took no action and was basically acting like DP's legal team.
they will rubber stamp the increase, it is already pre arranged. DP asks for more, tells the PUC what they really want, so the PUC looks like they actually accomplished something by approving less, but it was what was agreed upon.

Delmarva Power...a true enemy to its customers. At one of the worst economic times in history, this POS company requests an increase. This is especially disgusting considering countless businesses have been closed for months, thus utilizing less electricity. Sadly, it will happen because they are in bed with government.

Further, the "public commentary" session is absolute, total, unequivocal BS.
The rates are getting increased and it wouldn't matter if Mother Theresa showed up and begged for mercy. Their security team would beat her to death in the hallway.

Years ago I had DPL and just like cable tv, the bill was always going up no matter how little electricity my family consumed. In fact, between the electric and the crime in Wicomico ( which was outrageous over a decade ago when we moved, let alone now) I clearly saw the writing on the wall. We downsized to what we needed, and bought a modest home in the choptank electric cooperative boundary. To say I am pleased with choptank is an understatement - fantastic people and service delivery at a fair price.

The "public" service commission will never listen to the customers. Delmarva Power and all the utility companies always get the increase they ask for. Has your electrical service improved? mine hasn't. You should ask their employees how much they make and the benefits and the overtime. Its outrageous
I know four retired D.P. employees and they brag about how much retirement they are paid. Almost as much as when they worked.
That's where a major part of rate increases are going. Plus other benefits.
Yes, I agree 11:46 Choptank has stepped up and is more reliable that Delmarva Power. I have Delmarva as a provider and don't even reset the time on our range, microwave, or answering machine anymore. I just let them flash because I know from experience if I reset them it won't be long before the next power outage and the flashing starts again.

Wish we had a choice and we would be with Choptank. I signed up last year for Energy Wise so they could save on Peak Days and I get a little break on my bill. Now my bill will go up so I'm right back where I started. They are CROOKS!. The bad part is I got rid of Comcast because I didn't need them but the Electric company knows they have you by the gonads!
And it begins folks stand up now speak out or be buried by the hikes they all raise on us.... Imagine where our grandkids and kids will be if we don't put our foot down now!!!!!!!!!
I TOLD YOU ALL SO... JUST WAIT, once that kirwin plan kicks in, you-slaves haven't seen nothing yet!!!! You think belin learned from their lesson??? NO, now look at them, they didn't stand up to that POS mayor or council who made the town go broke buying land it did not need, then while being broke spent 100k+ to knock down buildings not bothering no one, put you more in debt!!! Then the mayor or council wanted to raises taxes to fill the rainy day fund, you all let them, and they raised land tax on you 2 to 3 times since then, and sewer and water fees went up, Worcester county taxes went up on top of it, the county also raised hotel fees which affects the town... They added in slums to certain area which brings the values of land down!!!
BUT HEY REMEMBER, YOU CAN JUST MOVE AWAY FROM THESE TAXES!!!!
