13-year-old son trades Xbox, earns money by doing yard work to buy his single mom a car

A teenage son in Nevada is rightfully earning praise after his hard work and sacrifice allowed him to purchase a car for his mother.

Krystal Preston is a single mother. She lives in Fernley, Nevada with her three children and three dogs. Her family is recently starting over from scratch.

Krystal's oldest son, 13-year-old William, was keenly aware of his mother's struggles.

"He was tired of seeing me cry," Krystal said to KOLO News.

William earns a little bit of extra money by doing yard and house work for people in his community. He says he had seen people on YouTube surprising their mothers with new cars, so he wanted to do something like that.

Dave T: What a kid! Great job. However, it's sad and shameful that a child has to sacrifice to help his mom because lazy, useless politicians are more concerned about aiding worthless illegals than their own hardworking, tax paying citizens. Speaks volumes of what we have in this country today. "The punishment you will receive for not being involved in politics, is that you will be ruled by your inferiors." -- Plato

They should start by getting rid of the 3 dogs to cut back on expenses. This is why poor people will always be poor because they are financially ignorant and irresponsible. They are pissing away money on dogfood and vet bills for 3 dogs but they don`t even have a car. They have their priorities backwards.

Who are you?! Is your name Ebenezer scrooge? Sheesh buddy. Chill already. The kid earned all that money and you don't want him to have pets.
