Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) introduced two bills on Thursday, one to eliminate the electoral college and the other to prohibit presidents from pardoning themselves or their family members.
A press release from Cohen's office stated that the "senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced two Constitutional Amendments today on the opening day of the new Congress. The first would eliminate the Electoral College and provide for the direct election of the President and Vice President of the United States. The second would limit the presidential pardon power by prohibiting presidents from pardoning themselves, members of their families, members of their administrations and their campaign staff."

These dumbocrats are stupider than I thought.
You cannot pass a law against the constitution.
The electoral college is in the constitution.
HELL NO
they better not.
Good luck with that. What happens when some rogue Dem gets in? How do they rescind an amendment?
On the march to change the constitution or eliminate it all together. Democrats are he** bent on destroying this country; can't figure out what they find so appealing about socialism and third world status??
Already
Wow
This country is just going down the tubes
This is just more new world order garbage intended to destroy our soverignty
What a waste of time. In order to change the Constitution (creating an Amendment), you must have 2/3 of BOTH houses ratify it and/or 2/3 of the states bring it to referendum.
This is like bringing a vote to make pigs fly.
But, let's just say they do: now wouldn't it be funny if a republican won the popular vote.
The most recent presidential election is the very illuminating example of why the Electoral College needs to be continued, providing the entire republic a fair shot at representation, not just the most populous states.
The amendments have to be approved by 38 states including those that would lose power if the Electoral College is removed. it will NEVER happen.
Those bills will never leave the House....another SnowFlake with nothing better to do than create jokes!
Foolish idiots, there is brilliance to the Republic system with the electoral college.. no system is perfect... but it is certainly better than the alternative.
Idiots.
The electoral college was formed to give each state equal representation. Would this not be a change in the Constitution?
9:35 agreed.
This spell revenge. Nothing in it for the American people only elite deep State.
Absolutely NOT!Idiots will always be in our midst. Repel them
Like the one on federal income tax that actually NEVER happened yet everyone accepts?
even if it left the Congress. It would go before the Scotus and it would be struck down as its UnConstitutional. Its a waste of tax payer money to even suggest it or to introduce it. All for show.
Read the whole article and you will understand what these liberal madmen are really trying to do and how they plan to force this on us...
Would this be an issue if Hillary had won? NO! It has never been an issue until a Republican won.
