Fret not though, Jack and I will be cutting hair at our new location, 804 E Main St Salisbury, MD 21804.
I received the certificate of occupancy today, so I'm going to be moving the shop tomorrow, setting up the next couple of days and then me and Jack are gonna take a couple of days to recharge ourselves. I'm really sorry this is going to inconvenience some of you, but I have to do it.
The next big shout outs go to Jack Butler for all of your hard work, it is greatly appreciated! Ricky Cantwell gets a great BIG SHOUT! Without your hard work and dedication to perfection, this wouldn't be possible so soon. You're the f**king man bro! If anyone needs work done, he's your guy! I'll vouch for him anytime!Gary Peek Jr. a true consummate professional in every aspect of the plumbing world. Your work is always flawless.

Publishers Notes: While I'm sure there's a multitude of reasons why Eric chose to close his doors at the Downtown location, the Salisbury Folk Festival was the final nail in the coffin. Being forced to shut down because the City took over all the parking was poorly planned. A local sub shop who had been told by the Mayor that they could expect their business to boom during the same Festival completely bombed and had next to zero sales because it was so poorly attended. This business may have to close their doors because they spent their working capitol on inventory for what was supposed to be a massive success.
Downtown parking, (meters) is a joke for these kind of businesses. If you pull up to a meter and it has 10 minutes left in it, when you put your 50 cents in the meter to gain another 30 minutes, guess what, it will only go to 30 minutes and NOT add the 10 minutes already on the meter. Everything Downtown any more is a scam. Businesses can't survive there. They're sold a bill of goods but in the end, (like Eric) they come to learn it's just not worth it.
We wish Eric the best for his future. He's the best Barber on the entire Shore.

Better location, better rent, no parking problems. Downtown owes him thanks for sticking it out as long as he did. What they didn't do is capitalize on the foot traffic he generated, not one bit over the course of almost nine years.
Just knock old down town down. It will never be Berlin. Give the people what they want they are just slobbering for a Cracker Barrel. I am surprised EVO brewing and Sobos hangs around here. If it were not for the Hospital and the University bringing in " cultured " outsiders and the pretentious schmoozing real estate people these places would dry up.
Great location right across from The Country House with ample free parking. Much more accessible then his downtown location.

Joe and your readers- how much money did the festival lose and will the mayor give an accounting of the costs of the fiasco, monies collected, and how much the taxpayers will need to pony up to cover the deficit?

If you want a vital downtown area a Purdue must move its operation and then level every house from Main Street to route 50 then you’d have better safety and a place for the event and future events
How can anyone expect Jake Day to fix downtown when he isn't able to fix his teeth...go see about braces.
Heard that the gym on Route 50 across from Perdue is moving too. Can't blame any business for bailing out of downtown Salisbury.

3:31 PM - That's all in the rich white Salisbury folks' gentrification plan. All of the landlords in that swath are going to make a bloody fortune on top of the big $$ they've already sucked from the black renters (which is about 95% of the houses.) John Cannon really likes the idea.

@3:31 funny you say that. Jake day has stated in the past his plan within the next 20 years is to do just that. He's in bed with Cannon and between him and GNI they own ALL the slum properties from mill Street and Fitzwater to route 50 and nanticoke road. The city will eventually try to buy all this property and demolish it making Day and Cannon millions. As far as the Perdue plant why do you think Jake sucks up to the governor so much. Perdue processing plant relocation is long overdue and we the tax payers will foot the bill for ALL of this one way or another
@4:00 you nailed it. Day made this comment when he was on the council. His vision IS to do just that and present his "Salisbury Harbor". All the described area neither shops, restaurants, condos, and yes his annual gay & lesbian festival after Salisbury's obligation to the folk festival is up. You people think this wreckless spending will stop after the festival, he's just getting started. Gillis veteran builders, Cannon and Day are just sitting back waiting. Salisbury you've been had.

Nobody made anyone rent a house from them they choose to because rent is cheap over there because the houses are old. But to have some growth and make positive steps for a vital community you must renew old areas . Perhaps you would like living in a Democrat city like Baltimore or Detroit or Chicago
