The citizens are speaking out against this totalitarian police state.

Looks like some of the citizens don't want this kind of big-brother oversight...and took some civil disobedience / illegal defacement actions.
The paint monster will eventually be caught - meanwhile, the rest of the local drivers will avoid that road completely - or try to drive at a legal rate. Problem with the legal rate is that sometimes, the cameras are miscalibrated - and you get a ticket anyway!
We call that civil disobedience. Saying no to the government when the government no longer represents its citizens. More to follow.

While I don't approve of destroying property, these camera make so sense at all. They claim they are to keep children safe. Bull hockey. NO KIDS walk down West Street to get to school and during the times when children are walking down Main Street to and from the school it is so full of people picking up and dropping off kids that they can't speed. So someone tell me how this is making the children safer? This is only meant to make money. Maybe they are trying to get back some of the money Carla stole. Btw did she ever pay that money back? Why no speed camera on Old Ocean City Road or Gumboro Road?

So what you will have is a camera watching us for speed, with a camera watching it to make sure it doesn't get vandalized and then a camera to watch that camera and so on... It will be coming...

Good, these are nothing but extortion. It really sucks to be living paycheck to paycheck and getting a "ticket" from one of these things. Especially if you're new to an area (just started middle school, or go to a after school camp) and you get hit with multiple of these. You're only going 42 on a nice wide road no where near a school (like the person said above the one on S. Division Street by Mitchells, or Riverside Drive, or the one on Rt. 50)
These aren't about safety, they are about getting more money for the city/county to waste. Not only that, ask them how much profit they make, I'd bet most of the money goes to the processing company across the bridge.

Those things are a joke. They put them in NON-school areas and inconspicuously warn drivers about them. Heck, the DEAD END signs they put up are bigger than the SPEED CAMERA warnings.
They are money makers ONLY. If they really wanted to control speeding in school zones, there are many -much more conspicuous- ways to do it.
There's one in Fruitland that is a mile away from the school, and in an area where I have NEVER seen a kid walk or wait for a bus.

Citizens of Pittsville who live in that area requested the speed limit be enforced. This was probably done by someone who frequently speeds through this area and has no regard for the people who live here.

YOU MY FRIEND ARE AN ASSHAT!!! Idiots like you use this stretch of road as a dragstrip!! I can't tell you the numerous times i've seen people that walk up and down this road almost get hit by speeding cars. I welcome any police agaency to run radar from my yard!!!
Citizens of Pittsville who live in these areas requested that the speed limit be enforced. This vandalism was probably done by someone that frequently speeds through that area and has no regard for the people that live there.

It would be nice to have a speed camera on 60 Foot somewhere between Route 50 and Mt Hermon. Daily drivers are doing 60 - 70 + mph
These cameras have nothing to do with money!! Townspeople including myself wanted these cameras to slow people down as our children and grandchildren are playing in the yard

These are not ONLY to protect the kids, they are to protect EVERYBODY walking down these roads!!! Everyday my wife, myself and/or kids walk our dog down West St. And nearly every time some idiot comes speeding by. Those of you who think these cameras are not needed are probably the ones speeding through town!!

That camera is no where near a school to begin with, so how can they justify having it in that location?
I don't understand why they posted the "school zone" signs on this end of the street anyway. It is clearly not in a school zone. Just get in your car and drive it the mileage and yards is to far to be considered a school zone!? If they wanted to make money put the camera on Old oc road where it would be more beneficial or on Gumboro road where the tractor trailers fly up and down it and are always going faster that 30 MPH.
Vandalizing public property makes you no better than liberals, Democrats, or ANTIFA!! I hope they find out who did this and imprison them. People need to be accountable for their actions and these kinds of crimes need to stop! Bring back capital punishment & public flogging for criminals.

The PROBLEM is that the sheriff and state police have FORGOTTEN small towns AKA TAX PAYERS to do Speed enforcement they need to assign a unit on overtime to do 2 hrs a week each town once every 2 weeks UNANNOUNCED.
They hide behind a calibration certificate. The companies just print it and affirm its right. No more no less.

I was listening to my fire radio about 3 PM this afternoon and I heard:

Central: "They are en route."
Oh, no matter whose fault it was why were they at Rita's at 3 PM on a Sunday afternoon? Shouldn't they have been at the fire station where they are paid to be? How many employers allow their own employees to frequent Rita's daily" Maybe they were going to Acme to get tonights dinner and then got a snack at Rita's?

You know if the camera was for the kids safety it would be placed where there are kids I would think? THIS camera is positioned going out of town not going in. There aren't even any houses facing the road in the direction it's pointing. It's just a long straight away. The reason im saying this is Because if it's for the kids why wasn't the first and even second one put close to the school and not on the edge of the inner city? Just wondering?
