Really sorry to hear this and feel sorry for the jobs that will be lost.
I quit going years ago when the quality of the food and service and cleanliness went downhill.
I heard they got new management and I notice that traffic had picked up at that location, so this comes as kind of a surprise

Owners just wouldn't remodel inside or stop hiring lazy ex-cons that were only there to satisfy parole orders! Hopefully next occupants will do a remodel before opening!

The new owners incorporated Christianity into the local GC & changed the music that plays from rock and roll to Christian music.I knew that would not set well with the locals.The silverware packets were placed in a cross on each table.I'm surprised that some of the patrons didn't burst into flames.
I'm surprised. They served meals that were typical staples for locals - Fried and starchy foods. And i assume the profit margins were pretty good, too.
It's a shame to see any business fail, despite the negative criticisms I've seen this morning.
All you could eat for cheap. Bad news, it was crappy food. NONE of it was good. They could even screw up vegetables. Any meat you got was overcooked and dried out from sitting under the heat lamps. No wonder they are closing. If I go out to eat, I at least want freshly cooked food, not something that has been sitting out all night.
Did the health department have anything to do with the decision?
Wish I had known these facts sooner. Being a christian I would have dined at Golden Corral. I have never eat there but will be a new patron for next two weeks. I patronize Chic Fil A and Hobby Lobby. It is a pleasure going to business where i am not seeing drawers and butt cracks or hearing the F bomb and cussing. I look forward to enjoying an evening meal at Golden Corral tomorrow.

Stopped going years ago. Place always smelled like old urine.

I heard the franchise wanted to renew a contract for longer than the owner wanted.
If you have eaten out anywhere, you would know that most of the eateries around here are supplied by sysco, Holt, Us foods.
Cracker barrel has already researched Salisbury and said thanks but no thanks
The food was crap and it certainly was not Cheap Buffet. We were going to give it another try and walked in one night and saw it was $16.99 plus the cost of your drink. We left and went to a Steak House. If I was going to pay that much I certainly would not go for Buffet.
I ate at a Cracker Barrel about 6 months ago for the first (and last) time. It was the worst breakfast I've ever had anywhere, from the flapjacks to the syrup. Expensive and unsavory. I think women like the place for all the country knickknacks that they sell. They can stay out of Salisbury. Their FOOD sucks.

I've been offered large quantities of meat cheap from a not so honest employee, cost are the reason for shut down. I tried telling prior owners to no avail.
I've eatten at Crackle Barrel many times at the Bay Bridge and I think their food is excellent!! I have never been disappointed.
What is source of this closing information?
Being a franchise (i assume) someone may pick it up.
Maybe a better operator.

The owner didn't renew their franchise with Golden
Corrals. A new Restaurant , not a buffet ,will
be coming in the future 2-3 months. Major revision
being done , think they'll be having a Bar also.
I ATE AT A CRACKER BARRELL IN FT WORTH TEXAS LATE IN JULY 2018. THE WORST MEAL I EVER BOUGHT IN MY LIFETIME OF 74 YEARS- NEVER AGAIN. THE 2ND WORST MEAL WAS DENNYS IN THE CAROLINAS OR TENN SEVERAL YEARS AGO.

A friend of mine watched the cook come out of Golden Coral, get into an altercation with someone in the parking lot. also witnessed them dealing drugs in the parking lot!! They were sitting in their car watch drugs being exchanged from some of the staff at Golden Coral!! THEY NEED TO SHUT DOWN. Nothing but a drug dealers dream to work and be able to deal drugs too!!

A Christian restaurant would be an interesting concept.
A major problem in the business is the quality of people you can afford to pay. They don’t understand clean, efficient, neat, decent, tidy, disinfected or personal hygiene. Plus, they are the most apathetic bunch of people in the work force. They just don’t care. If you try to teach them anything you are harassing them. If you fire them for being lazy, incompetent or dealing dope out the back door you are a racist or an Uncle Tom.
It’s a tough racket.
It's NO wonder this area is so high in heart and Cancer disease. And before either of you idiots sends a rebuttal, NONE if the patrons are going in there for the salad bar

Where do you think most food comes from? Sysco is just a distributor. Granted it is a shitty company with shitty employees but any quality issues are with their suppliers.
Well aren't we in a grumpy mood.....
Once was enough. Watching 300 + lbs binge eaters turned my stomach.

I heard from a Salisbury employee that it was because they wanted a sign that was taller than the so called Salisbury leaders would let them have. But I see that Salisbury University got that tall stupid clock tower with no problem. Hmmmm, wonder how they did that? Maybe because they are part of the good ole boy club here? Money talks here in Salisbury. Crooked dealings going on here. We need some whistle blowers in Salisbury. Might get them when they retire.

They deal drugs in the Food Lion parking lot in Fruitland too. See them a few times. Someone waits in or next to their car, and another car pulls up in a separate spot and they go to it, stick their hands in and then out and turn and walk back to their car and leave in an opposite direction from the drug car. Next time I get pictures or better yet, video.
Does anyone know what they are doing with the contents/equipment in the building?
