It's a great idea....vacationers seem to turn into idiots on vacation then get killed for darting across the road when traffic is not stopped. I personally thought it should be taller.

Mexicans are still seen climbing the fences and getting over...

Wow , we have turned to socialist government. Save me from all accidents with a fence , and other things we have to pay for because we are stupid drunk or drugged up . Ain't we great!

I think a concrete fence at the bay bridge that no one can get across would work better.

With all the hullabaloo on here when the state built the same same kind of fence in Salisbury (first) it is good to learn the one in Ocean City is working for the purpose it was built. Now can I rightly assume the Salisbury fence is working as well to keep people safer? It amazes me how the public gets on a blog screaming "something needs to be done about............ When a plan is formed it amazes me how the public gets on a blog screaming "just Mayor and Council wasting tax payers money again". When the dust settles, lo and behold, it is a state project funded to protect taxpayers from "doing stupid". Think about that - how often is a problem created by the very people who scream the loudest over fixing the problem to keep them safe.

I hope they extend it the whole length of the city, I drive a large truck and trailer in the city routinely, I have almost killed stupid people running out in front of me dozens of times, that’s not happening in the fence spots now.
Don’t get me wrong, I still see morons walking along the fence and the like, but i like to look at it not as much as a way to protect the stupid, but to protect decent drivers from the guilt of accidentally killing or injuring the stupid and inebriated.

It’s installed correctly from 52nd to 54th st. You can craw under the rest. Look at it and you will see what I mean.

Absolutely ugly and unnecessary.

since more people drown at oc then are killed by crossing the street, maybe oc should put the fence up at the oceans edge?

So Seacrets over serves their customers and this ugly fence gets built to keep the drunk walkers from killing themselves, Got it!

Too expensive and not what was presented

There will still be pedestrian injuries and deaths until people stop being stupid, lazy and drunk.

If you believe City Hall can prepare, process AND brief statistics based on less than 1 year timeframe of fence protection....oh wait, I see we have someone from City Hall playing in our forum AGAIN!

Oh Rickie, the wall and Mr/Ms Fun family. Your superior intellect makes us smile!!!! No moron, we ALL are frowning at lack of common sense.

Keep believing family friendly when your hotels are EMPTY!
