Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver Announces the Temporary Closing of Pemberton Drive UPDATE

Due to the rainy weather this week the work on Pemberton Drive has been delayed. It is estimated that the work will be completed on Wednesday August 1, 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Salisbury, MD... Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver announced today starting 9am Monday, July 23rd, Pemberton Drive will be closed at Anderson Mill Pond for emergency road repairs. A detour will be set up using Rockawalkin Road, Nanticoke Road, and Crooked Oak Lane. Local traffic will be permitted into the detoured area but no traffic will be permitted to cross Anderson Mill Pond.

Work is expected to be complete and the road reopened by 8am Monday, July 30th, depending on the weather. Wicomico County Public Works will be replacing a pipe under the road that was damaged during the May 2018 storms. Subsurface damage that was not apparent at time of the storm has reflected to the surface.

The dry weather, combined with the lower pond elevation, and schools being out make this the best opportunity to replace the damaged pipe. Road patches will remain in place after the work to allow for settling until this fall when the affected portion of Pemberton Drive will be repaved. Please direct any questions regarding the repair to Wicomico County Public Works Department - Roads Division at 410-548-4872.
