Oregon Initiative Requires Gun Owners To Surrender ‘Assault Weapons'

‘This explicitly comes for your guns,’ says congressman

Oregon has submitted a proposal to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines in a ballot initiative petition meant to prevent mass shootings.

The proposal, called Initiative Petition 42, would require legal gun owners “to surrender or register their assault weapons or face felony charges.”

“The proposal defines an assault weapon as any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine, and any feature like folding or telescoping stock, or that can accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition,” reported KGW News.

The initiative petition states that “a reduction in the availability of assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines will promote the public health and safety of the residents of this state.”

And there you go, folks. The liberal left has finally started the disarmament of America. Like Stalin and Hitler and Castro..... let the games begin.
This will only be the beginning, assuming this story is true.

This is another good reason We the People should never have allowed the courts and lawmakers to begin infringing on the 2A, the infringements and over reaching of the highest laws of the land have now become rampant. Are they blind and ignorant of the chaos thats likely to begin or is that their plan?

Right, becasue I can't reload a gun to fire more rounds or have more lower round capacity mags... These people are such retards... All they want to do is take guns away so you are defenseless and depended on the govt for help... And so when they raid your house you can't fight back, or when the next president tried to become a dictator you can't fight back...

Oregonians are stupid sheep...only the beginning my dears. ignorance breeds ignorance. wake up.

Are they taking away your muzzle loaders? Muskets? That's what the 2A was written for

Dave T: Amazing to me that we live in an era of the greatest technological advances man has ever seen in history, yet we are unable to solve any real problems including violence. Meanwhile, the only actions taken are over zealous power grabs riddled with political agendas, all under the guises of "helping the people" and brought to you by, none other than, some real beauties who call themselves "public servants."
I've had the misfortune in my lifetime of being lied to and manipulated many times, and this rates among the worst of it! Why is it that I and others like me, who follow the rules and do what is right are faced with more rules and regulation, and now with threats of becoming felony criminals, when we are already compliant with the law, all because of the actions of a lunatic and an impotant justice system?

Good luck with that! It wont happen!

950am...they didnt just start, theyve been attacking the Constitution via the death of one thousand cuts.

1011am...I know your a communist progressive at heart but I'll play. If the 2A only pertains to muskets, then the 1stA only applies to quill and parchment...turn in your iphones, your laptops and desktops...many crimes have been committed with these dangerous items...far to many hate crimes, theft schemes and hacking...turn them in at once so all these crimes will stop!

ANYONE who violates or attempts to make laws that violate the Constitution should be executed for treason.

The Liberals keep saying register your firearms. You have to be an idiot not to believe they are not registered. When they sell you a firearm they send the paperwork to ATF. That means they know who has what weapon. How stupid are people that believe the firearms are not registered.

And your freedom of press was on a ink press machine with metal plates. Not a computer screen or cell phone. But times have changed correct.

Shall not be infringed . . .

12:08 There are plenty of unregistered firearms. Long guns have been sold/traded/gifted for decades without transfer paperwork.

I inherited mine, they are not registered in any data base, those requirements were not in place at the time these weapons were sold and having been given to me I am not required to do so. And even if I were required...ain't happening. My weapons are for my protection and to protect me and my friends and neighbors from a tyrannical government!!

Justice Dept is going to declare bump stocks as machine guns and ban them, force us to surrender them. Not what I voted for.

10:11.....a product of a liberal education. AND a bit uninformed.

The Second Amendment didn't protect any type of gun. What it DID protect was our ability to take people like the Oregonian politicians and their cheerleaders outside and do what needs to be done.
It was more of an IDEA and principal than anything. But they never taught you that concept did they?
If you are not buying guns and ammo now, you are running a little late.
If you HAVE been doing that, keep them ready and loaded. This is going to get pretty bad.
First thing? Get off your knees.
NO MAN gets to pass out our rights in the order or priority THEY think is right. THAT is going to get ugly.
We ain't Australia.

AND, 12:08.....
I guarantee there are THOUSANDS of unregistered weapons in this county alone.
You have no clue, do you?
Have you ever bought a gun?
Has a gun ever went off close to you?

The ATF knows where the guns are, huh?? Maybe you better call 'em up and ask about the guns they flooded the market with --- you know, the guns used to kill a federal agent?
Where are THEY at?

Does being that ignorant hurt at all?
