It will be interesting to see how the liberals spin this one or if they ignore all together. I have noticed that the cable news has not put out much coverage. None of them!!

No no you can't have guns in schools it may just start shooting our children for no reason. Everyone knows that guns kill our children they should've just arrested the young boy and given him a time out along with a trophy for his precipitation. Charge that no good gun toting police officer.

No AR-15 involved, very little national media coverage. WTF, if it's not an AR, it's not newsworthy?

Notice how CNN barley cover the story ?

How about the Idiot NYC Mayor deblasio REMOVING Armed polic from all Public Schools ? I guess he wants shootings so he can push his anti NRA Agenda ? smh.

The stand down is because Dems want more death so they can go after the NRA.dad smh.

In light of this comparison Maryland's legislative body is working overtime to take guns from law abiding citizens based on basically hearsay evidence if the supposed victim does not like ANYTHING a lawful gun owner says, does or even just looks at them in what is perceived as the wrong way! Sounds a lot like a dictatorship or communism to me...it plain stinks!!

10:40 There is a difference between a teacher with little to no training having a gun in school versus a trained police officer/swat member. They still are not sure if the cop shot the shooter.

Where are the TWO liberal brainwashed teens from the Florida shooting on THIS ? CRICKETS.

School Resource Officer that was involved is getting a reprimand from Broward County Sheriff's Department, he was supposed to go to a "Staging Area", and "Stand Down", and await for "SWAT" to arrive before handing over the situation to them.
In that time he was supposed to "Shelter in Place" and call in an order for coffee and donuts to be delivered.
He has been put on unpaid administrative leave pending a disciplinary hearing.
FBI is investigating if the deputy violated the shooters "Civil Rights", or his right to "Free Speech, and Expression".
There is also another FBI investigation into this as a "Hate Crime", the deputy may be charged with, since he is a member of a "Hate Group", called the NRA.

Laugh if you like, but how many times has this happened to a guy involved in a "Good Shoot", but the dead guy was black so a witch hunt was started regardless of the truth or the facts?

Hey genius. Do you really think that just giving a teacher a weapon without seeing if they can handle one? The idea would be to train them and have a schedule to shoot at the range on a regular basis. There are also simulators, in fact right here on the shore, to simulate various scenarios for practice under stressful conditions. It's all about training, training, and training. What would you rather see if your child was in a school with an active shooter. A teacher cowering in the corner with your child with nothing to repel the shooter waiting to be shot. Or a teacher trying to protect your child and themselves with a weapon?....all I hear are crickets

3:37 Have you seen the majority of teachers? Who is going to pay the teachers for all this training? All of you on here complain endlessly about taxes now and how many days off teachers have during the school year. Do you think teachers are going to train for free and on their own time?

Even the SRO in St. Mary's may not have hit his intended target. Put trained police in schools. Hey genius, how are you going to keep the guns from being taken from these teachers? Most teachers are scared of the students in the HS setting.

The gov't will pay for the training in some form. Who really cares who will pay for it as long as these kids get protection? A sheriff in Ohio offered to train teachers for free, maybe others will do the same. I personally don't care who pays as long as they get the training, get armed, and protect themselves, students and any others. Why would you care who pays?

The mentality of some people. Solutions are offered and some people try to shoot them down without even attempting to offer counter solutions. Would you rather have workable solutions or just pass another worthless law?

Put LEO in schools. Taxes will pay for the extensive and continuing training necessary to make teachers proficient with guns. This will be done during working hours. The teachers' union is not going to allow any training on their own time. You already complain about the taxes and money the BOE spends, wait until they start paying for 132 hours of training times 10 teachers per school times 24 schools. That is just over 31,000 hours. Avg. hourly rate for a wicomico county teacher? Just say $30.00 but it is probably much higher. Initial cost of training only is a million dollars. This doesn't include cost of guns, ammo, increased liability insurance coverage, continuing training and safes to secure weapons in the classrooms.
