Charleston Black Lives Matter leader shot, killed in New Orleans, niece says

A Charleston Black Lives Matter leader who made headlines for attempting to steal a Confederate flag died Tuesday after being shot in New Orleans, his family said.

Muhiyyidin Moye, 32, of Charleston, was shot in the leg while riding his bike around 1 a.m. in the Louisiana city, his niece told WCSC-TV. She said Moye tried to keep riding his bike after being shot but eventually died at a nearby hospital.

Other circumstances surrounding the shooting, including a possible motive, were unclear.

In February 2017, Moye was arrested after trying to snatch a Confederate flag from a protester in downtown Charleston after jumping over yellow police tape — an incident that was recorded during a live broadcast

Well, it is Charleston after all. That place is a holdout of the deep south and not very friendly to outsiders, no matter which race anyone happens to be.

3:18 am, unfortunately is right. Outsiders coming to the south are truly unwelcome even if you have family here. If you weren't born down here, went to school down here and live practically your adult life in the south; you are not welcomed. You better ask someone who has experience the lack of southern comfort and charm for those who are considered outsiders. Southerners love you when you visit because you spend your money in their townships, cities and the State. But, that welcome mat is rolled back and up quickly. These hateful people can't wait until you leave after a visit. And, you folks who retire and want to move back home to the south, make sure family really want you to return. 3:18 am is correct and it does not matter what your nationality is. Just know, there is no such thing as southerner hospitality in the south. These southern folks are truly hateful people. They pretends their friendly but they truly are not. The south is beautiful concerning scenery. But, the people are the most hateful people I have ever met in my life. Down right hateful. Especially southern Blacks.

Black lives matter? Not. If it was another black that did it, they would not want that information to get out.
