Teen hitman gets life in prison with no possibility of parole

A teenage hitman convicted of gunning down a father of five was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Andrew Lavender, now 19, was just 16 when he fatally shot Ceran Lipscomb, 36, in the back of the head in August 2014. It’s still unknown who paid Lavender to kill Lipscomb.

Prosecutors said Lavender spoke to his mother after his conviction last month about retaliating against those who testified against him, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

“That’s the kind of person he is,” Assistant Prosecutor David Prem said at Lavender’s sentencing hearing. “He is a danger to our community.”
