Who Gives A Crap!

Who Is Affected?

Verizon FiOS dropped WBOC-TV, FOX21 and WBOC Classics from its channel lineup in Sussex and Kent Counties in Delaware. This impacts roughly 18,500 subscribers who pay Verizon to receive the same programming we offer free over the air to those who watch our stations with an antenna.

So it's been reported that WBOC wanted a 175% increase in payment from Verizon. Come on, they receive higher ad dollars and also royalties from the network based on # of viewers, so it's in their benefit to have Verizon transmit their channel that they broadcast for FREE to everyone else. Verizon is simply providing a benefit to their viewers to not have to switch inputs and watch over the air, just simply have it in the channel lineup, and to receive the best picture quality.

WBOC should be PAYING VERIZON for this privilege!

Who uses an antenna anymore? I didn't even know they were still in existence.

Yep. Go to Walmart. Buy the Antennae you see on that ad on T.V. You get 15 stations here in Salisbury. Including Fox 21, classics, and WBOC. Clear as a sunny day on your T.V. in high Def.

I watch 9 local channels with an antenna, which lies flat on my TV. Comcast, dish and directv priced themselves out of my budget. I have no complaints over local tv. To each his own. Between the internet that cost me $19.99/mo and my free tv, I feel I stay informed. If I had my drathers, I'd like FOX and RFD but can't afford $75 to $125/mo for the only two channels I miss. I do not own a cell phone either. Life is great.

817 You can get FOX with Sling TV. It comes to your TV with a Roku or Amazon Fire Stick. It's 20 bucks a month and you get 20 cable stations including ESPN

817 The free TV always sound good, but were do you get internet for 19.95 a month?

"FREE" TV? You only get one side of the story when it comes to news. Unfortunately you have to pay for tv to get the "Truth". Can't get fox news on free tv. It's free for a reason. But not for our benefit.

I could care less! They don't seem to give a damn about Maryland residents on the Eastern shore either! Sick of their all Delaware all the time news and De Advertisers. Sick of chopper Willie and the Chopper 16 crap they feed us!
I got rid of cable years ago because I can't see paying 100 dollars or more for the few channels that were worth watching. They are not reporting crime in our area. The weather always has a positive spin because it's all about the affect on tourism and their advertisers. I have My Amazon Stick and roku boxes. I have a world of entertainment at my fingertips, and news as well. Don't need Cable, and I certainly don't need WBOC or WMDT for that matter. If I want to watch them, I have a Digital antenna for this.
