Scoping Regulations: Multiple Species

Black Bass, Spanish Mackerel, Gear, Jonah Crabs, Oyster, Striped Bass and Trout Feedback

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is seeking public feedback for possible regulations on:

Fishery Management Plans (Black bass and Spanish mackerel)
Gear (Stinger hooks)
Jonah Crabs (Commercial fishery)
Oysters (Harvest reserve areas)
Striped Bass (Commercial and recreational)
Trout (Delayed harvest area)

Why cant we get rid of regulations instead of constantly making new ones!!! No one can keep up with the regulations now. You can ask five DNR officers a question about one regulation and get 5 different answers. The previous statement came from a DNR officer!

11:16 is spot on. If you are a commercial fisherman and you get stopped it's up to the DNR officer if you get a ticket... that's because there are so many regulations that they are guaranteed to find something.
