Watch: School faculty member allegedly sideswipes a bicyclist — and keeps going

The exact moment a driver clipped a bicyclist along a Tennessee highway over the weekend was caught on camera — but the most stunning part of the incident was what happened after the collision.

Tyler Noe, 23, was bicycling Saturday with his friend Greg Goodman on Natchez Trace Parkway near Nashville. That’s when police say the passenger side of 58-year-old Marshall Grant Neely III’s vehicle clipped Noe’s bike — and then just kept going as if nothing had ever happened.

According to WSMV-TV, Natchez Trace Parkway is a designated bicycle route, and cyclists are allowed to use full traffic lanes.

The driver was in the wrong and deserved to be charged. It was however arrogant of the bicyclist to ride the the middle of a two lane road. He should not be riding in the middle of the lane. He is asking to be hit. His recording device shows his arrogance because he feels entitle to ride in the middle of the road. I also ride in the country on my bike, but I keep to the sides and always look over my shoulder for cars that are behind me. The law needs to be changed stating bicyclist need to stay to the right. He was putting himself and the motorist in danger by riding in the middle of the road.

Here we go again. Anti educator venom. What the heck does being a school official have to do with this, other to inflame sentiment towards teachers? Why couldnt they say "58 year old man" or "local church attendee" or "local chicken nuggets eater?" These are the type if hit jobs libs use to call people racist. Be better than them.

Give the guy a medal!

Sorry he was hit but he brought it on himself and whoever decided that bikes can use a full lane needs to be hit as well. Stay to the right, single file and you probably won't have issues.

Isn't it a little strange that the camera was pointed at the bike like they knew or hoped he would get hit? Anyway, I feel little empathy for him.

Bikes can use full lane on this road. Keep reading.

Share the road. This is full lane use road for bicycles also.

Why should Bicycles be mandated to ride to the right edge of the lane and not in the middle or all over the road? Bicycles contribute nothing to road construction or repair. MD should make a surcharge per year for every bicycle and have them registered. This money would go towards roads like my gasoline tax goes to. Fair is fair. They should also be made to comply with MVA laws which does not allow them to be all over the lane, unless MD has changed the laws. Then when they do this BS then charge them with reckless endangerment.

Ride in the middle of the road and this is what you get.

Uhhh....don't you know almost 99% of cyclist also have cars?

I understand that in this particular area bicyclist are allowed to use the full lane. What burns me up is when cyclists ride side by side down all of Camden Ave oblivious to anything or anybody, especially the backed up traffic behind them.

Exactly 4:40. If roads built for cars by drivers that pay FEES for up keep of said roads are designated "full use" for bikes then the speed limit needs to be adjusted. Bikes must keep up speed so as not to impede traffic or they should not be allowed on the road. So, unless bikes can sustain a minimum of 40 mph, get off the road!

The Liberal entitlement mentality and lack of care for human life.

The cyclists around here are arrogant. They hear a vehicle coming behind them and move further towards the center of the road. During last sea gull century they wouldn't even move over for an ambulance

Very hard to believe some trails in this town of Salisbury. Just for instance driving North on business Rt 13 between Bateman and College Ave. You are in the right lane and a bike path is beside you with a right turn lane right of the bike lane. What idiot designed that setup and what nut would run a bicycle between the two motor vehicles passing the bike at a greater speed. The only way imaginable is if the cyclist is drunk.

Oh please. Sorry other people like to keep fit. bike riders pay taxes and probably are less of a health drain than you complainers! Grow up people.

Bike riders tend to be liberals and avoid taxes as much as possible. They suck up the oxygen that normal people need to breathe.

So what is the law in Maryland concerning bicyclist? Perhaps if both knew there would not even be this discussion.

Come on. Why would someone want to film people in cars they do not know. Of course only the bike was filmed. The article said two were riding obviously the second one was filming most likely with a helmet mounted or bike mounted camera.

As to people telling bicyclist to move to the right. Most run off the road did that and got run off the road.

Get a grip. They have the right of way on a bicycle road. Like it or not. Change the law if you do not like it. Would you think if some arrogant impatient driver did this to a large slow farm vehicle that the farm vehicle was to blame. Or just a confused slow driver.

Too many people manage their time poorly then do very stupid things. This drives should be charged with reckless driving and lose their license if they have any other tickets. If it looks like it was done on purpose they should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and spend a year or more in prison.

Cars kill far more people than firearms. That could have been attempted murder in reality.

You'll have to excuse me because I grew up in the good old days when the cops came to the school every year to teach us bicycle safety. The truth is bikes are classified as vehicles and subject to all the same laws as cars. That includes riding on the right side, single file, and signaling turns. Does anyone else remember the hand signals? The problem is the laws are almost never enforced on bikes.

well no kidding he had a camera mounted, and pointed at the bike. whee. what the heck is a bicycle road? you tools say share the road all the while hogging the road and not moving over like you should. so no surprise you get run over. I'm just surprised it doesn't happen more often. and there's a very large difference between farm machinery doing the job than a bike screwing with traffic. bad analogy. you can keep trying to defend this crap all you like, and just like this guy you will lose. might make a nice epitaph on your headstone.

Yeah, I remember. Then this new generation like our past gay mayor wanted to give them full use of a lane. We see how that's working out.

Hey 246 He is entitled to use the whole lane, he was on a designated bicycle route
